> 3 dayI purchased this item based on the reviews. I used this for an aquatic turtle tank 8-10 hours per day. It burned out after a few weeks of use, although it did work well for the short time it lasted.

> 3 dayMy special-needs turtle loves this basking lamp. I like that it’s only 50 W. I have a small tank but it really does the job with the intense Rays He likes it.

Greater than one weekOrdered two 4 months ago and they have both burned out. I have the light set on a timer that runs 10 hours a day. I think that these lamps should work for more than 600 hours... On 4/20/2013 I emailed the manufacturer to inquire if there had been a bad batch of bulbs because of the previously mentioned conditions. They replied that these bulbs are covered by a 90-day warranty and if I supplied them with a copy of my receipt from Amazon the bulbs would be replaced. I did and they shipped two replacement bulbs to me. I raised my rating from 2 to 4 stars based on this warranty coverage, but I may change that AGAIN if these replacements wear out as quickly as the first two!
