The lightbulb works great inside a clamp light for my 10 gallon tank with my Whites tree frog in it. This light does get very hot! My husband set the lamp on the couch for just a few seconds and the fabric began to burn, ooops! Good price, have been using for about 2 1/2 months with no issues.

Didn’t last as long as they normally would.

This size/wattage is perfect for our little green Anole. Gets just warm enough for him without it making the lamp too hot.

Perfect for my granddaughters bearded dragon. He loves basking under it.

I purchased a pair of these basking lamps for our aquatic turtles terrarium. The first one burned out within 10 days. So, I felt lucky that Id purchased a second one - but it lasted less than 20 days. So, a total 30 days for 2 lamps. Maybe Zoo Med thinks thats a bargain, but Im looking for a more reliable, long lasting product.

Received bulb March 17, 2016 and put in basking lamp that day. June 27, 2016 the bulb has already burnt out!! (Our basking lamp is on appx. 10 hours a day.)

Mixed feelings on this line a bulbs in general. They burn out rather quickly - I have not had one last beyond 2 months. The 50 watt bulb melted the plastic trim around the screen out of no where on my Exo Terra Terrarium. Was using the bulb without issue for over a month and smelled something burning one day. Not sure why it happened. I had also used a 75 watt bulb in the same socket/location for a few months prior with no issue. Turned it off for a few days and just used my night time bulb in the interim and then my wife said lets try it again. Its been about 2 weeks and all seems to be ok. Screen does not seem to be getting hotter than usual. Maybe it was just angled funny on that day, who knows. Otherwise the 50 watts bulbs seem to do the trick heat wise on my Anole tank. They are cheap enough that I can replace them every few months as they burn out (which they do). Lose a star because they dont last and 2 for almost burning my house down.

I have only had this for one week. I didn’t even keep it on all day long and tonight it already blew.

    Works good.
