Zoo Med Wood Tortoise House

Zoo Meds Tortoise House is the largest commercially available enclosure, and that alone earns it a star. Also, it is made of wood- the preferred housing when keeping tortoises indoors. Putting it together was a cinch and took me maybe half an hour. My only qualm is the quality of the wood itself. Its comprised of unsound pressed wood, with dubious moisture repelling ability. To remedy this, I used Tall Earth Eco-Safe wood treatment. I have yet to add anything to the enclosure, as the treatment is still drying and airing out beforehand. I do like the built in hidebox and basking area with metal grating. The design is great! Lets see if the workmanship holds up to the idea. ** To note, this enclosure is intended to be used to house a small group of juvenile Russian tortoises and will be added to in order to properly accommodate their growth and need to roam. I would not recommend this house for anything larger than a single tortoise 6 in diameter or less. Would be excellent for a single adult male Russian or hatchlings of various species.

Did not come with any screws or instructions. now I just have a pile of wood pieces and nothing to put them together with also the bottom board is totally different than the one on the box Its not a solid piece but several boards nailed together.

Prefect

The lid portion that has the screen in it came pre-assembled. The wood was split at 2 of the 4 corners. Had to wood glue it and clamp it over night. These tanks are cheap and it shows.

easy to assemble without a power tool, spacious enough for small tortoises. Weve had it for a month and it works well. Its a real step up for our Russian. She is a happy creature.

I have 2 years old and 4 months old tortoises. roomy enough for little tortoise. material is wood so good for hold temperature and humidity.

Fairly easy to assemble, seems to be well laid out. Considering buying a second one for more space for my Russian tortoise!

Disappointed The end pieces that are on the opposite sides were very short we took it down and put it back together. Worth the money.

It molds. It sucks. Dont buy it. The wood is crappy and it doesnt fit together properly. Hate it. I returned it.
