10802 Gel Plate 8X10

> 3 dayI was excited to use this Gel Press Printing Plate for transferring magazine and laser photocopier images as is shown on so many YouTube crafting videos. It doesnt work. I followed all instructions to a T, including not putting too much paint, being patient with wait time for paint to dry before peeling the paper back. NOPE. I also tried with different consistencies of paint. NO LUCK. What it does work for is negative images. For example, when you apply your paint with the brayer, let it dry a little and then press bubble wrap or corrugated cardboard into it, the item will lift off the ink where the item was in contact with the gel plate and leave the negative space for either the paper or another layer of ink to show through. It also works to stamp on paint using a textured item or rubber stamp, but not as well. Lifting the paint off of the gel plate works better. I decided to keep it for negative space prints, and I can get some interesting prints using various textures and layers of different colors of paint.

> 3 dayLove this gelly plate. Having fun experimenting and playing with paint & stencils, making paper for my junk journals. Do not regret choising this size, would have been unhappy with a smaller one.

> 3 dayEasy to use (I’ve used acrylic) and clean - just don’t set it on newspaper - the print does not wash off.

Greater than one weekThis is fun and easy for all ages. Used to create interesting backgrounds for more involved painting as well as nice arty pieces when you use stencils and torn paper to create nice edges. cleans up easily when using acrylic, goache and water color paints.

> 3 dayGreat for monotypes and at home printmaking. Slightly smaller than standard printer paper, has rounded corners. Avoid using marked paper it might pick up graphite and won’t come off now, doesn’t affect my prints but now i have tiny permanent doodles. Also I tried using a stencil i had made with transparency paper and accidentally placed it on the sticky side to my plate and it sort of fused together. I had to pry it apart with water but it damaged one side so now I just use the other rip.
