    Greater than one week

So yeah, steel arrived in good packaging, nicely oiled so zero corrosion. It was also perfectly flat, unlike the last 1095 i bought from a different supplier. I traced out a pattern went to rough cut the excess steel and watched as annihilated the diamond edge on an expensive Diablo Metal cut-off wheel i love using. I grabbed a good Nicholson metal file and it skated right off the steel. I just started making knives and while my little diy forge is great for heating a knife to non-magnetic for hardening, i just dont have the ability to heat it for the duration and temp level in order to do a proper anneal. I guess its time to step up and make an annealing box or maybe even build an oven of sorts.

Incorrect description. The bars i received were not annealed so could not be cut until that was done.

If all pieces check out then Id say this is a great value. 5 dollars a foot at that thickness and width is very good. Ill buy again for making Damascus

The steel was to be annealed and it was not. When I tried to cut it,It completely ruined my bandsaw blade .Plus the steel was warped to begin with. Now i have steel I cant use and Im out a bandsaw blade because the description was a lie!!

Price has gone up $10.00 in the lat week. Not as good of a deal as it was when it was only $20.99. You can get steel from stateside for the $30 they are asking for now.. Came in a nice package. All of the pieces were flat and did not have any rust on them. They did have 1 or 2 very small marks on them. Almost unnoticeable. Package says right on it Made in China, which I knew before purchasing. The very edge of the metal is hard, my files would not bite. But after cutting and taking to the grinder, I had no issues. Theres really no way to tell if this is really 1095 without sending it out to be tested, but I will say it hardend without any issue. After harding I broke a piece to look at and the grain structure looked pretty good. I bought this to strengthen my knife making skills and for this it works. When I feel my skills are better I may look for higher end steel, but for now Im fairly impressed with this stuff and will continue to use it as long as quality stays the same. Hope this helps.

Youd be a fool to buy mild steel bar at this price. Go to your local custom fab / industrial fab shop and pull steel out of their bin. Youll get stainless, aluminum, and mild, and toss a 40 to the boss man for metal that wouldve cost you 200 + for.
