One part of the description says this hole saw is for soft metal. Another part of the description says it is for thin metal. The description also states the Compatible Material as being Engineered Wood, High Speed Steel, Wood, Glass, Plastic, Iron, Metal. **I wonder how this hole saw is supposed to cut through glass??? LOL! Then the description contradicts the previous statements by stating Applications: drywall, plywood, acrylic, wood, plastic, thin metal, etc. (Note: not used in ceramics, glass, thick iron, cement and other hard materials). ** So now it cant cut through glass, or any other hard materials. AWESOME! ;-) The first one of these hole saws I purchased cut through several pieces of 1/8 plywood without difficulty, but was completely dull after cutting through 2 pieces of common sheet metal, such as that used for standard HVAC duct work. Notice the flattened teeth in the attached picture. Nevertheless (and against my better judgement,) I ordered another one to cut through more 1/8 plywood to finish the job, but it didnt have the center bit holder. Save yourself some frustration, and dont waste your money or time on this WORTHLESS JUNK. Buy a well known name-brand. At least you will probably get all the pieces and parts. NOT RECOMMENDED WHATSOEVER!

This hole saw really impressed me. I needed to cut a bathroom vent hole through aluminum siding and thick sheeting/wood. This saw did the job with no hesitation. The teeth still look very sharp and I would imagine I could cut many more holes as needed for other jobs. The arbor on this hole saw is thick, durable, and worth spending the few extra dollars on vs the others that only thread into the saw hole. This arbor has thick metal pins that hold the bit in place properly. I have a very nice Milwaukee assorted hole saw set but it didn’t have a size this big. The Milwaukee bit alone was 3X-4X the price of this setup which also included the arbor and 3 bits. I took a chance on this and I am glad I did, I highly recommend this.

This comes with everything you need right in the box. Sometimes you have to spend more money on an arbor or center mount. This has all of that so you can just open, assemble, and get to work in a few minutes. It is a beast on the cut teeth. I purchased to use to install a 6 inch ducting system for a laser cutter exhaust. It cuts 152 mil which is 2 mil larger than the ducting I am using. Duct hose and fittings all fit perfectly with this size. You will get years of service from this.

Absolute garbage. Wouldn’t cut through what I needed it to. Wouldn’t even cut through 1/4 inch plywood. And it broke during use on wood.

Needed holes in car hood and it did the job a couple things to be aware of Didnt realize I needed a half inch chuck for this...probably in the description if so I didnt notice. Thankfully I had another smaller hole saw and used that smaller shaft set-up. I bought the 4.25 size and a cordless drill is not gonna have the power needed once you get into the metal... at least not a 12V. My old corded drill had no power issues and it worked great. If cutting steel, go slow and be careful, because when it goes through and catches and edge youll know it.

Bought this hole saw because I thought it would be the better option. Came with 3 bits. One bit was broken in the box upon receiving it. Not a big deal, there was 2 more. Attempted to use it on some sheet metal, wouldnt cut through it. The Allen screw to secure the drill but doesnt stay tight, just vibrates loose and falls out no matter how tight you make it. Also the locking mechanism fell apart so its no longer usable. I ended up getting done what I needed, it at least made a nice template in the sheet metal and I cut the rest out with a dremel.

I bought it for making a hole on drywall and bricks and the teeth wore out quickly.
