Greater than one weekThe Strip Disc Stripping Wheel was using to strip rust of an outdoor metal shelving and hand rails. It did a good job of strip off the major of the rust on a metal shelve, on the hand rails about 65%. There are few places it can not get to and require a difference stripper and/or manually.

> 3 dayI am pleasantly surprised that these abrasive stripping wheels as they lasted as long as they did. I am grinding and stripping of old welds on a project and needed some stripping wheels. I see these available and at a great price and thought it would take four or five of them to complete my job. Here I am, only used one of the wheels and my job is complete. I have a H. Freight 4 special grinder using the 5/8 arbor. This is some tough mesh and resin they used for these wheels. I used the wheels on 2024 Aluminum with about a 47 hardness and they worked great and didnt damage the material. I also used the wheels on 310 Annealed stainless steel with no problem. It was able to cut out with ease. 5 stars to WMAZtool for their TOUGH Stripping Wheels! Thanks :)

> 3 dayImpressive. The grinding material seems to be glued or fused to the arbor plate. I need this type of glue for everything! With that said - the grinding material sticks well to the plate it is attached to which of course is important. And what is this grinding material? Description states high-strength wear-resistant fiber mesh and combines resin elastomer and high-quality black diamond. It certainly does the job and does it well. All you need is a light touch to start. Work smarter - not harder. The grinding material seems to be flexible yet sturdy. Takes some finesse to get it done right. I easily removed the rust from entire metal leg I show in the picture and the grinding disc showed minimal loss of material. These should last for quite a while. I used the blue for removing the rust because I believe the purple discs are for heavier jobs. This was magically answered in the question section - not the description. I had to tighten the grinding disc to my angle grinder by hand. My tightening tool does not reach into the depths of the disc because of the thickness of the grinding material. I wore gloves and turned the wheel with the grinders lock on until it wouldnt turn anymore. I am confident it is secure but will keep an eye on it. Reverse this procedure to remove the disc. It is a perfect fit for my tool. No material other than rust went flying. I thought the material might grind off but it was not noticeable at least. Eventually I am sure they wear down. It looks like they might even clog up but that will depend on the material you are grinding/polishing. Of course, always use eye protection and unplug your tool when changing wheels. I consider myself very aware of possible hazards but lost the tip of one finger years ago to a silly mistake. Luckily, I have nine more fingers that still work fairly well. Always be safe. The product appears sturdy and well built. Very well built. These will make some hard jobs easy. A must have for the toolbox. They are a great value for an eight-pack. Neat product.

> 3 dayI got these thinking they were like the stripping pads I use with my drill, but these are meant for a grinder. My drill pads are just pads with a hole that you screw down an arbor. Those can be used on either side but applying flat is not possible because of the arbor screw. These wheels have a built-in backing and metal reinforced arbor hole in the backing plate. The downside is they can only be used on one side. The upside is I can use them as a flat stripper with my grinder. I have a HF grinder and found the hole in these fit the grinder but were too small to fit around the indent in the nut. Thus, the force of the grinder was simply on the metal reinforcement band of the stripping wheel. That being said, I had no issues when I used this to smooth down old mortar from removed tiles. They worked pretty well, and perceptibly seemed to not wear down as fast as my other wheels. However, they also started being less effective about half-way worn as the surface became smoother from grinding the mortar. But overall, I really liked using these better than a wheel on a drill.

> 3 dayThese are a great way to remove rust when preparing the surface for welding or painting. I turn to these before ever using a wire wheel or sanding disc. Good functional tool. One issue is the grit designation or lack of it. There is no information on the discs, and two colors: blue and purple. For abrasive products this usually means different grits. Only indication is in the Amazon description which notes 60 grit. Is this for one color or both? Other than that these are very useful.

> 3 dayI use these stripping discs on my angle grinder to remove paint from an old truck I am refinishing. These discs are doing a great job and holding up well. I wish I knew what grit they were since it isnt listed but these discs work so well that I still gave them a 5-star rating.

> 3 dayThese stripping wheels are very aggressive and remove paint quickly and easily. This is what you want. Make fast work of removing paint and corrosion. I just stripped a deck to get it ready for fresh staining. Dont overdo it with pressure on softer woods because it will remove the wood fibers, leaving a rough surface. Also keep control of the angle grinder or the edge of the wheel will dig in and leave marks. Stripping metal is good too, but the same applies to stripping aluminum. Will leave circular scratches if you arent careful and paying attention. But overall, these work well for general stripping use, corrosion cleanup, etc.

> 3 dayIm currently working on a 1936 Chevrolet. The car is a older restoration that Im stripping the paint on. Im also redoing the interior and taking the sound deadening material off the inside. Not only do these strip paint great, they also make easy work stripping the sticky residue left behind from the sound deadening material. It last fairly well with light pressure on the paint. The residue from the sound deadening material does eat them away a little quicker. Fortunately the price of these are great compared to anyone local. I can purchase this 8 pack cheaper than two locally and they last the same. Definitely cant beat price, quality, and quantity. Less money I can spend on consumables, the more I can put into the project. When working on project vehicles, you never hear people talk about the price of consumables during the build process. Between sandpaper, sanding disc, cutoff wheels, welding supplies, welding gas, etc, you could easily have another grand tied up in the project. Its definitely nice to save some cash whenever you can.
