abcGoodefg Nintendo Wii DVD Drive Replacement Disc Drive Repair Part with Opening Tool

Our system hadnt been used in a while, mainly because the system was very temperamental about accepting and reading game disks. I found a site that walked through the steps to replace the drive (ifixit.com) and then ordered this replacement drive. Product appeared to be new, contrary to a few reviews here. Product arrived in just a few days, and the instructions on the other site were easy enough to follow, and replacement took about an hour or so. Note: you will need Tri-wing screwdriver for the replacement, and using separate containers for screws and parts is very helpful when disassembling and reassembling. Once everything was back together, the system fired up and works like new. Couldnt be happier.

Replaced the Wii drive that was not loading the disc and making grinding noises. This one so far is working great. Kids are playing the games we have had for years. The install was easy by just watching a video on YouTube. Easy and straight forward took about 30mins.

This disc drive works excellent. The beat thing about it that it says it doesn’t play Gamecube games and those were the fisrt i tried and it did played at least for me. My original disk drive that came with the wii at some time it couldn’t played all the wii games i have like Xenoblade but with is it was fast. The only thing that bothers is that it makes a lot of noise well obviously depends on the game, like the laser it’s doing a lot of work I just hope it last for a couple a years. The other thing it that I find it a bit expensive IMO. Edit: Since 8 months with this, stills works.

Did exactly as it said: reads Wii games only, which is exactly what I needed it for. I can finally play modded Brawl and Mario Kart Wii again.

I had to return the first unit I got cause it came defective, got a replacement and works fine. Installation toke about 2 hours, you need to have certain knowledge and foremost care when you try to install this on your wii. You can find tutorials online with step by step. The product is a generic disc reader, so far is working just fine

I was receiving a disc read error on my Wii so I replaced the driver. It now works and my daughter is able to play games during this safer at home period. I just hope it lasts a while.

Make sure you buy/have a Tri Wing screwdriver! Or you won’t get this installed. We bought a Tri Wing bit set then we attached it to our multi bit screwdriver but then the combo itself was too big to fit in the holes of the Wii console. We went everywhere locally to find a Tri Wing screwdriver and there were none. So we had to modify the Tri Wing Bit to fit into the Wii console and multi bit screwdriver. Do yourself a favor and just buy the Tri Wing screwdriver when you purchase the new Wii drive!
