The product may have been ok but had no directions. I bought the suggested tool set to work with the drive. Looked at hours of YouTube videos to get a sense of what was needed Tried everything suggested- didn’t work. Honey tried - didn’t work. Brother tried - didn’t work. Ended up getting a new WII.

Easy to replace via online instructions... wii is working again

After a decade of not being able to use our Wii, I found this option and so glad I did! For $33 our Wii is working like new again. None of our games would read in the drive before. We switched it out with this drive and now our games are working like new again. All of our previous game saves were able to stay. Super happy with this purchase!!

Years ago the disc drive in our Wii stopped working. I took it apart and got it working again, but it was very noisy. Recently my kids found the Wii and wanted to play it, and while it worked it was super noisy. I found this replacement drive and installed it. Super simple and it worked like a charm. Now the Wii reads discs and it is quiet again. It is like a brand new Wii console!

Replacing the drive was all that was needed to fix the Wii so it would once again play the game discs.

Worked perfectly. I was extremely happy that the kit came with the proper tools as well. Revived our old Nintendo Wii which couldn’t read disks no matter how much we cleaned it.

This item replaced the DVD drive on my old wii. I pulled up instructions on ifixit and went through the process. The included tools are helpful but low in quality. The spludger was pretty much destroyed at the end. Two comments in the instructions are helpful. First, the included tri screw driver needs to be filed down because the point is too sharp to engage the screws on the unit. Secondly use needle nose pliers to disconnect the faceplate, not tweezers because you risk cutting the wires. It took a little longer than I expected but the outcome was great.

Our old wii is new again! Easy to install (make sure you have the 2 required y-wing screwdrivers) took about 10 minutes!

Made my kids happy as can be, they love playing the old Wii Games and now they can. I thought it was the discs being scratched, NOPE it was a bad drive. Money well spent!
