The price is high but is your bike nice & worth not getting ripped off of yes then id look into This. Make sure you buy the right one with mounting bracket, I bought it & it doesnt come with one so gotta buy separately. There are sellers that sell both bracket & lock together for much cheaper than buyin them separately. I bought them separate & learned my lesson by paying a little bit more but hey good lock.

Having read lots of reviews, this is the lock that I finally decided on. Its rather heavy, but that should be a good indicator of the quality of the lock and materials used. I havent used it too often, but it always locks securely and gives me the peace of mind to leave my bike unattended.

This is the best. I have a krytonite lock and I don’t like the fact I have to fiddle with the key to get it to open. The Abus is smooth and extremely sturdy.

I think its better than the Kryptonite Brand, its very sturdy and stiff, with easy unlocking/locking using the key. No problems after over a month of use.

Looks strong and is heavy. Should slow down the most determined thief. Did not use the mounting bracket though it worked fine.

The choice was this or the Kryptonite. The ABUS won over Kryptonite with the strength test (search youtube) The Kryptonite did win with the insurance coverage offer...BUT The Kryptonite insurance coverage comes with a requirement that makes it just about useless. A) It requires you to send back the broken/damaged lock B) You have to take the same day pic of the bike locked Chances are if your bike gets stolen, the thief wont leave the busted lock. Then you have to remember to take a current pic every day you lock your bike. Based on that and the general reviews of the coverage, I decided to just go with the stronger ABUS lock. Side Note: As great as the mounting bracket is (sold separately)...it will only fit on a standard size bike frame. I have a 2019 Specialized Stumpjumper XL Mountain bike and I cannot use the mounting/holder bracket because it wont fit around the frame as the frame is pretty thick. So I just carry it in my water pack bag. I would have given it 5 stars if the bracket worked too seeing as I had to purchase that separately.

Ive been a Kryptonite user for years, and I still am. I think they make great locks, very sturdy and intimidating in that they pose some difficulty to a thief, enough to be a deterrent. However, they dont perform well over time. They dont like being outside for long periods of time, which is understandable. They stick, and eventually it was taking me several minutes to get my yellow NY U-lock unlocked. No amount of maintenance would help. So I got this thing. Its great. It stays outside with my bike in all weather and it works. Silky smooth. And its just as strong if not stronger than the Kryptonite equivalent. I love it. Its expensive, but you might have to buy it only once if you only keep one bike outside.
