> 24 hourIm an undergraduate student and I just use this laptop like any average college student would. Lots of word documents, power point presentations, Netflix and Youtube, online lab simulations, I use some science-y type programs (admittedly I dont really know anything about computer programs or computers so Im not sure how difficult these would be to run any laptop but this one works with them just fine). I really love this laptop. I honestly know jack-doodly about computers, which makes me really nervous to buy them, but this one does literally everything I need. Its very rarely slow, it has plenty of storage space for what I use it for, I like the matte screen, keyboard and mouse pad all work great. I do wish the screen got a little brighter but honestly its not that bad. I would highly recommend this laptop for anyone whos just looking for a solid laptop to do normal stuff with (I dont think this could handle serious gaming or big programs that require a lot of processing power but if you dont need those things its great. I do minimal gaming on it and it still works great for smaller games and Ive used ERDAS Imagine, ImageJ/FIJI, and a program to run simple R coding things for school which have all worked fine as well).

> 24 hourDo Not Buy!!! Bought this in 2019 have barely used it and the charging port does not work. I even ordered a new charger thinking that was the issue - nope - the port connection is loose. Interestingly enough when I Google the issue I find complaints clear back to 2011 - Why is this Still going on??? I want my money back!!! Will not be purchasing Acer products again.

> 24 hourWorst computer investment that I have ever made. This was the 5th or 6th computer that I purchased and by far the worst piece of crap that I ever purchased. It is slow and locks up frequently.. I have had to reboot this unit more often than all previous computers combined.. I could never, ever recommend an Acer to anyone unless I actually despised them and wanted to do them harm.

> 24 hourOverall, I’m pretty satisfied with this Acer Aspire 5, but extremely disappointed there is no place to plug in my camera SD card. Why did they eliminate that? Duh!!!

> 24 hourThe screen on this laptop is nice but it is kind of hard to open. It is hard to catch an the edge. When it is closed the edges are flush and it’s hard to get a finger in to open it. Not the end of the world, but kind of a pain when you are in a hurry. It is very light. The side is super thin which is great for taking back and forth to work. The screen though is an awesome size. The plastic does not feel cheap and does feel solid. The outside is aluminum so I feel like it should hold up.
