Acer Chromebook Spin 311 Convertible Laptop, Intel Celeron N4020, 11.6 HD Touch, 4GB LPDDR4, 32GB eMMC, Gigabit Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, Google Chrome, CP311-2H-C679

This is my third Acer Chromebook, the previous two Acers gave me years of reliable service and never failed to perform when needed. The only reason for upgrading was for additional power and longer battery life, both previous Chromebooks serve as backups if need be.

Much faster and of course newer than my old Acer 15 Chromebook, which was one of the first 15 models they made and the only 15 Chromebook on the market when I bought it. I got this because I wanted something good for couch surfing and my old Chromebook doesnt support Android apps so it was starting to feel very limited in use. I decided on this model after reading a lot of positive reviews, which mainly turned out to be for the last model that uses this devices same name.

I use the laptop for school mainly and I have no complaints at all. I take really good care of the laptop and it’s still working the exact same as it did fresh out the box 5 months later.

The product I ordered is listed on the website as CP311-2H-C679. I received instead the product CP311-3H-K3WL (marked as such on the box and the back of the PC itself). This model K2WL uses a different chipset (MediaTek instead of the Intel Celeron 4020). This impacts negatively the performance of the unit SIGNIFICANTLY. Moreover, it has fewer USB ports than the C679 product.

I like the fact that it is difficult, not impossible to get malware, and can be easily cleaned if you know where to go. I had a continual popup and discovered that although the operating system didnt have a virus/adware/malware, the browser did. Once I figured this out I cleared browser history and it was gone. I do not really like the Chrome operating system, but I suppose I will get used to it. Really like the near non-existent virus/malware. No need for anti-virus. Everything is run in a sandbox.

The quality is awesome I have no complaints.

This was my second Chromebook purchase. Very good. Lighter and more nimble than I expected; flips from laptop to tablet really easily but still feels like sturdy construction. Very happy with this machine so far.

Money is tight everywhere. I thought I would give this Spin 311 a try for reference of a future purchase, then return it. However, wow. I have been stunned into realizing how slow my previous Chromebooks were. This one is fast, with a nice sharp clean feel to the keys. Bright clear screen. It loaded all my previous items within no time. The wi-fi is even noticeably faster and more efficient than my previous laptops. No. No this one is staying with me. I hope to buy a second one soon. My Wife deserves better as well.
