Con. Okay so I ordered this laptop for my daughters birthday. So on day one I told her it will not turn on till you charge it so first thing she did was plugged it in and let it charge a few moments later we powered it up and my daughter was super excited so she went on to download a game she likes to play online. So the next day she goes to play the game and the screen froze shortly into the game so first thing was to wait to see if maybe it was lag but after a minute or so nothing still froze. Mouse didnt move so next I pushed alt, control, delete. Nothing so the ESC and nothing then the windows key. So I powered it down and powered back up keyboard lights up but no display so I hold the power key down for 15 seconds nothing. So I decided to power down again and power up and nothing but the keyboard powers up. So I this point Im upset and my daughter is super bummed after being super happy and excited a moment ago .so I called costumer support and they let me know that my computer is under warranty and it can be taken care of but I get cut off and Im running late for work so I decided Id call back after work. So I called again and talked to costumer support again so went through the same conversation and then they said they could refund my money or replace it I optioned for a replacement they said ok but because of the price there supervisor would have to ok it I said ok so after about ten minutes on the phone the till me that there supervisor cant ok the transaction that they have to wait for the morning supervisor to do this I said fine and that I would be contacted the next day....... Well its been so its been 4 days and nothing Im starting to feel scammed by Amazon for some reason. So in my opinion stay away from this laptop and DO NOT BUY ANY Electronics from AMAZON.

This Acer gaming laptop is really an entry level unit but the only thing I could think of that Id like different is I wish it came with more than 8gb of ram. I immediately upgraded it to 16gb by putting another 8gb of the same type in there so that made it dual channel as well.

Good budget gaming laptop

This is my 3rd Acer, and it is good as expected. You can play all the new games you want to play, but battery should be plugged in. Battery is big and dont last much, but it is a gaming PC very compact.

Shipped unsealed, and cant do turn on power.

I ran some thermal and acoustic tests on this along side some cinebench and heaven benchmarks to stress the unit. On the default fan profile I experienced thermal throttling not even 1 minute into the test. Ended up with a final score of 12940 on the multicore in cinebench. I then tested in performance mode and with the fans ramped up to maximum. My score changed to a more impressive 13788, nearly a thousand points higher than testing under normal conditions, however, the decibel meter showed 77.5dB which is extremely loud, so while the performance mode does indeed improve performance, the sacrifice is a very loud laptop. I personally do not see the life of the cooling fans being very long if one keeps it maxed out while gaming. I think this would be a great casual gaming laptop if you are the kind that doesnt fiddle around with settings and would rather just install your game and go. But if you are the type that loves to tweak settings to squeeze every last bit of performance you can, than this might not be the laptop for you because of all the stress and high acoustic levels required to get to that peak. This unit ships with 8 gigs of ram, but Ill probably be bumping it up to 16. It also includes screws and the needed ribbon cable for attaching a secondary 2.5 drive on the inside. The power brick on this is a little smaller than my Acer Predator Helios 300, its only a 180 watt unit and it also comes with I believe some sort of lanyard with the word NITRO on it. I decided to go 4 stars on this laptop. Its a great performer, boots super fast, runs well, and looks cool. Would make a great gaming laptop for casual gamers or even a great school laptop. Hardcore gamers who wanna tweak and squeeze performance numbers, might wanna pass.
