great laptop by far my favorite gaming laptop so far!

Edit: So much for initial honeymoon period. Laptop died in 3 weeks, no power. Was working wonderfully one night, was dead the next morning. Had to return it. AND build a new PC to replace it. Dont think Ill be spending a grand plus on a laptop again, at least not from here.

I Bought is computer in January it was all good at first Now 7-8 months later this computer shutdown randomly while gaming amazon cant give a solution and acer is giving a run around

In my opinion, this computer has major BIOS issues. If I plug in more than one USB device (USB-C + Type A or two Type A), then my externally attached USB mouse stops working and the second device may or may not work depending on the type of device plugged in. It does not matter if I am using a high end Logitech mouse or a cheap wired MS USB mouse, the USB port is just functionally not working. Yes, this could be driver issues but, Intel and NVIDIA drivers are up to date and say they are functioning. So, this leads me to believe it is a BIOS issue.

I purchased this a little over 3 years ago and it finally started to show its age. From the very start I had issues with my GPU fan sounding rattly, but it still pushed through and I never had GPU temperature problems. A few days ago it finally broke but it was definitely a good purchase back then. For some reason even though this laptop is outdated and very weak relative to much cheaper Acer laptops, the price has gone up from back then. Dont purchase now, buy the 3000 series laptops which are cheaper and better.

Im told the fans on this laptop are intended to be a feature for cooling performance. But the price is a whiney, tinny squeal after about 5 minutes of on time. Headphones help.

Pros: Lightweight, fast, can run most games at very high settings, battery life, cooling design and temps, smooth 144hz 3ms IPS screen, monitoring/overclocking software by Acer, extra 2.5 and m.2 slots, no longer small acer charger but back to thicker, slick lightweight airflow design, keyboard feels great and keys are in correct places (unlike lenovo), best bang for buck as I was researching for 2 months a good gaming laptop with a good price and performance...

The fact that you can touch the left of the trackpad and the whole computer will shut off made me return it I got a replacement one brand new and it did the same exact thing..contacted acer and they gave me a full refund as they could not fix it. They even opened one of their models to see if it would do the same thing and it did. It couldve been a great laptop for the price if that didnt happen. Otherwise it gets a 1 star for not being able to use for christmas.
