> 3 dayYou need a decent rig to game on, I mean go to college/work. You also can’t break the bank any more than the family has done so far.

Greater than one weekThe laptop did not come in the original packaging and was missing some attachments as I have seen in product reviews, but that is fine. I purchased the unit used for under $800, so I figured the laptop was an open box. No scratches or dents in perfect working condition, so I got a steal. The only downside is, the laptop is for my son, however since it’s used I was not able to add insurance. I can hold my own when it comes to PC/laptop repairs so not a deal breaker. I did notice that upon setup, I had to plug the laptop into an Ethernet for setup. WI-FI was a greyed-out option until Windows 11 booted, then I was able to disable airplane mode. My hard work paid off.

> 3 dayMy gpu has hit 2115mhz in Turbo, then like a civilwar buff it went right back to the 1800s. This laptop does punch well above its weight however even without the King Candy button.

> 3 dayIf there were no underlying issues with this laptop I would rate as 5 Stars and higher recommend. However, having owned this laptop for less than 30 days Ive experienced too many issues and am returning for a refund. First and foremost is the random shutdowns that occur without warning or provocation (i.e laptop idle/not overheating), refusing to open desktop applications or games (particularly Steam games), and restart times in excess of 10 minutes when system locks up. What convinced me to return and not purchase another Helios 300 are the number of people on the Acer support forums that have experienced similar issues without resolution. If you purchase and dont experience these issues, congrats on having an amazing gaming laptop that runs games excellently, that hasnt been my experience and must caution: buyer beware.

22-11-2024My son has a nice decent gaming rig, He always wants to play games with me, but I dont use a PC so we cant play anything together. I got this and not only is it fast, it runs games better than his full sized pc can. screen is nice, graphics crips and gets really good framerates in the games we play. I personally do not try to ultra out anything graphics wise and always opt for best quality to performance ratio. This has worked amazingly so far. Battery life is decent for a laptop.

> 3 dayThis was a very exciting purchase and the fastest loading laptop Ive ever owned, until the Windows 11 upgrade. It would turn on and load almost without delay and the same with any game I ran on it from any of many online services and downloaded games. Once it upgraded itself to Windows 11, it crashed constantly trying to play any game, either online or downloaded games. After I tried a restore, I started getting the never ending reboot cycle and no matter what option I chose, when it would actually let me choose an option, it didnt help. My bad for not creating a restore on a USB drive as soon as I received it but its not a priority when youre setting your device up and have an NVMe drive , or so I thought. When I called the Predator Premium Service line that is supposedly 24/7 support, I got a voice mail box that was full. When I tried to call and order, and pay for, restore media, I got the same thing. I finally got through to a support agent who told me I would need to call their sales department to get the media, which I did and got the same message, you have reached a voice mail box that is full. Seemed like a great purchase until I unfortunately needed support which seems almost impossible to get from Acer, on a premium product that is supposed to have its own dedicated support group, which it does not.

> 3 dayPossibly a defective unit but the laptop stopped working after two days. Apparently running google chrome and trying to open the start menu is too much for an advanced gaming laptop: it froze and I had to hard restart it. After which it didn’t actually pull up again, just cycled at the login.

> 3 dayJust like so many other reviewers have pointed out, the audio quality is terrible. Honestly, my phone has better audio than this laptop. With some videos, I had to put my ear real close to the laptop to try to hear. I returned it and was charged $125.00 restocking fee.
