The Good:

Maybe hardcore gamers can nitpick this gaming laptop, Lord knows youtube is filled with many opinions about it (this review is for the US version...apparently corners were cut in some markets resulting in a performance hit), but after a month I can say that I think I nailed it on price vs. performance after days of research and given my sub $2000 budget. It has the requisite 16gb of RAM and the 6gb of ram on the 3060 future proofs it for a few years. (I almost fell for the 4gb 3050ti...dont do it). It is very expandable. I immediately added a 1 TB NVMe drive and found it easy to open the case and install. There is room and supplied adapter for another SSD beyond that, or you can take that spot over with a larger battery. RAM is removable. I am not a hardcore gamer so I am very happy...havent found a game or tech demo that the 3060 cant do at least 60 fps at ultra settings. Most older games run around 120-140 fps. Build quality is not up to par with the higher end business laptops I am use to, but it is not far off. This was a very good buy at $1200.

I havent bought a new computer in years. I wanted something that I could use for business but if u felt like playing a game I could keep up with the latest games out there. This was a great platform to choose. Now I did personally upgrade the ram to 32 from 16 and I installed 2 more drives as well.

I bought this laptop for my son for Xmas 2022. It died 12 1/2 months later, 2 weeks past the warranty period. Acer wanted $850 just to look at it, and Best Buy now tells me the motherboard is shot and its more expensive to repair than just replace. $1400 down the drain. I will never purchase anything from Acer again - absolute trash.

Great value to performance cost compared to other laptops. Has plenty of room to expand storage. Only dislike is the cover shows every fingerprint but you can live with that.

Amazon sent defective Laptop that did not even get On when it arrived, when asked for replacement created a whole month of problem. Amazon could not pickup the product from the Amazon locker where it arrived at the first place. I had to myself go to a far off drop off location to return the product. They Wasted my time. The seller on purpose sent a defective product and Amazon did not take any action to compensate for my waste of time. They actually made sue that I would suffer for their mistakes.

This laptop was amazing. It did everything I needed it to do and I was enjoying it...for the first 3 days of course. Then out of nowhere the GPU fan just stops turning on. The GPU in the Predatorsense application showed a temperature of 92C at one point and the fan still did not turn on. Put on Turbo mode and nothing. Changed setting manually still nothing. I was really enjoying this laptop but that happened with the Fan. I would probably expect it from a year of use but this is supposed to be brand new.

If there were no underlying issues with this laptop I would rate as 5 Stars and higher recommend. However, having owned this laptop for less than 30 days Ive experienced too many issues and am returning for a refund. First and foremost is the random shutdowns that occur without warning or provocation (i.e laptop idle/not overheating), refusing to open desktop applications or games (particularly Steam games), and restart times in excess of 10 minutes when system locks up. What convinced me to return and not purchase another Helios 300 are the number of people on the Acer support forums that have experienced similar issues without resolution. If you purchase and dont experience these issues, congrats on having an amazing gaming laptop that runs games excellently, that hasnt been my experience and must caution: buyer beware.

This is my 2nd Acer product and Ive never been more happy. The speeds are amazing, quality is top notch. The laptop can get hot if you dont have proper venting but even with higher temps Ive never had issues. Solid laptop, plays any game or program I throw at it.
