21-11-2024This slim and dense laptop packs a six core CPU that can turbo up to 5ghz, a 2070 super, and all the LEDs to light up a carnival into a laptop with a great screen. The heft and performance mean business, though the loud startup sound and fireworks display on the keyboard betrays a bit more whimsy. It can fill both niches nicely, as can it be a portable desktop replacement. I say portable, but at a very dense 5lbs (feels much heavier) and with a 4 hour battery life, its not a typical laptop. Between the low base CPU speed and the various max Q tricks used by the GPU, it can and does make sacrifices to allow for this portability. Most evident is the 230watt power pack, which is ridiculous for a laptop, but the GPU alone could draw more on the desktop, but upgradability is another issue.

> 3 dayUnsurprisingly everything about this laptop is killer fast. It’s surprisingly light given its hardware. I would strongly advise keeping this laptop is an elevated position though this thing gets H O T! Laptop cooling just isn’t up for the task. I couldn’t imagine tying to use the “turbo boost” button the laptop comes with.

Greater than one weekI got this laptop five months ago. From the first time I turned it on Ive had issues with the monitor and screen tearing on start up. Luckily that issue only happens when I first turn it on. Ive also had issues with any time it times out and the screen goes into rest mode or a dark screen it will freeze there and I will have to hard shut down the laptop. Then about 2 months into owning this laptop the wifi card died. Now 5 months in the USB ports have stopped working. Its possible I could have gotten a dud from the factory but my personal experience has been horrible.

> 3 dayFirst off, the battery life doesnt last at all. Maybe 40min off of the charger. The LEDs broke after 3 weeks (i took good care of the laptop). It overheats running anything when plugged in. So either it dies or overheats.

> 3 dayMostly just wanted to share what I didnt know.. the i9-12900H cannot be undervolted to help cool the system. You cant do it in the BIOS, or with XTU or Throttlestop.. its an Intel thing.. that being said you CAN easily control the fan speeds, etc. to try to keep the temps you want.

Greater than one weekWe purchased this to run our software programs in our small trucking business. Probably a bit overkill for, but we wanted a cmptr that wouldnt be obsolete in a year and could run anything we throw at it!

> 3 dayI dont like bulky thick laptops, this is great because its really thin compared to others, also it doesnt have too much led which i liked alot. It also has some minimal look. One thing I will say is the power brick, which is quite large and heavy, but other than that its a great laptop. I would love to see a type c charger from acer that we could purchase and use it for on this laptop. Will do a in depth review in 2 to 3 months.

> 3 dayIts hard to decide on a gaming laptop that varies among manufacturers. Processors, ram, GPUs, display, screen size, etc., so many things to consider. Well, I am more than satisfied. This purchase may in fact be my favorite of all time.
