> 24 hourThis smart plug was a huge game changer in my house! Mostly used during Christmas time so I could easily set groups and routines for Alexa to easily turn on the tree, window candles and other decorations. I have also used this with window air conditioners to turn on or off while away- however certain units would reset to original temperature or fan settings so keep in mind before purchasing for this intended purpose. I still use them the turn on lamps, and is especially helpful while we are out and I forgot to turn on a light. Simply open the Alexa app on my phone and turn the lamps on, even while my phone is not connected to wifi! I previously purchased an off brand and ran into connectivity issues, but these connect easily with a QR scan code or manually if unable to scan!

> 24 hourI love this smart plug and I can’t wait for it to go back on sale so I can buy more! I love being able to turn on and off any lamp from anywhere in the house.

> 24 hourIm not real crazy about Alexa, but these are cool. Well done Amazon, you sucked me in with one for 5bucks, then I caved and got 4 more for $20/per unit. Im a geek: I make tech work for me. I have felt some interest in smart home, but no use case really spoke to me. Nevermind the crazy protocols like ZigBee, et al. Wtf. I am happy to report that, aside from being tied to big brother, these plugs give instant satisfaction. No phone app, no programming, just say Alexa turn on the light and it happens. All of my network is segmented so some things cant see other things, tldr, so Alexa is always on her owns (4 of them), but it still knows what were doing because were signed in. Theres no escaping that, so be careful what you say and do around the smart things.

> 24 hourThe Alexa smart plug is amazing! I use it to control the light in my bedroom. Very convenient when I fall asleep at night and don’t feel like getting back up to turn off the light. It was super easy to set up.

> 24 hourSo I’m kind of new to the amazon device family. We just got our echo a few months ago. I’ve been a prime member for over 10 years so I’m familiar with how amazon has changed life as we knew it (for me anyway). I saw the amazon smart plug when I was searching for any brand smart plug that had Alexa control with it. It’s been in my cart saved for later for at least a month! I finally decided to just pre order it so that I could review it and hopefully help other people that are like me and have fallen way behind in the tech field. For reference I’m an almost 34 year old mom of 2. This means that my 8 year old stole my iPad, iMac, and I haven’t had a computer of my own in about 4 years! So I do everything from my iPhone. I’ve had some weird issues with our echo and my Alexa app that it will just randomly pause a song so I’m not sure what that is about. ANYWAY! I received my new amazon smart plug the day it was released (so glad it’s not like a new iPhone or PlayStation where people camp out ahead of time or do people still do this??). It was easier than I expected but harder than was described in the listing because my Alexa didn’t just recognize it. Setup: Since my Alexa didn’t recognize it on its own, I had to unplug the smart plug and quickly scan the code on the back of the plug, then plug it back in fast so that when it scanned for it it would see it plugged in. After that it was very simple. I was able to plug in my baby monitor and then tell Alexa to “turn off plug one” and it turned off! It is so cool! Future: I think homes will end up being built with these right into the electrical system. Maybe they already are. Comparing: With so many different brands offering smart plugs with Alexa integration I can’t see myself buying any more than 1 for $25. Too many are 2 for $20. While it’s nice to have the amazon support backing this up, I just can’t afford to fill my home with them at such a high cost comparative to other brands that do the same exact thing. Overall: If you can afford to fill your plugs with these then do! This smart plug is easy and awesome! But if you’re on a tight budget like I am, I would try a different brand first and see if those will work just as well. Every time I purchase something online, I always check the reviews. I count on others to help me choose the best option. My reviews are always my honest opinion and I try to include photos if possible. > 24 hourBought this to use with a Salt Lamp that is plugged in behind a dresser. It makes using the lamp so easy without having to try to get behind the large dresser. Love that it is connected to my Alexa speaker. I honestly need to get these for all around these house. I also love that I can control the outlet when I am not home through the Alexa App!

> 24 hourThis was extremely easy to set up. I plugged it into a power strip and Alexa picked up signal immediately. I plugged in my lamp and asked Alexa to turn on 1st plug and lamp came right on. I purchased a few Gosund plugs and they never were picked up by Alexa, even though it says they are compatible. Very pleased with the ease of setting up and usage of this plug, and I am NOT very tech savvy so I am very happy it paired with Alexa and worked the first time I tried, Ive unplugged and moved this around a few times and it has always automatically reconnected to WiFi as soon as it was plugged in again. The power strip its plugged into has a surge protector, unfortunately, the smart plug itself does not. I have renamed plug 1 to Living Room Lamp, you can rename additional plugs in the app or directly through your Alexa/Echo device. I can turn lamp on and off from Alexa app when I am not home. I would definitely purchase another one when they have another promotion for $5, not sure they are worth $25 Only thing I would change is the size, its fairly large for just one plug. If you plug it into a wall socket, you can use the other outlet easily with a 2 prong plug, but its a little tight with a 3 prong. If you have several appliances/lights etc., in the same room, I think I would go with the smart plug power strip itself, it has 3 outlets on the strip that can be controlled independently and its only about $2 more.
