Amazon Smart Plug, for home automation, Works with Alexa - A Certified for Humans Device

> 3 dayI got these to control the Christmas lights. The design of the plug is terrible. It doesnt fit in any outdoor receptacle so you have to plug in an extension cord, puta your plug into that, then put an extension cord into the smart plug. I tried scanning the bar codes several times to pair with the Alexa, but the dialog box is splashed across the screen, blocking the target for the camera. You have to guess where to place your phone above the barcode. Then, when you KNOW you have it placed right, it says that it doesnt see it. I threw the phone down in disgust and walked away. When I came back, all of the sudden the plug was there! The programs allow you to choose Turn on one hour before sunset and Turn off at 10 pm all good, right? Nope. I tried, repeatedly, to combine them in a routine over two days. I gave up. I started to manually turn them on with my phone. Then, magically, as before, they suddenly seemed to work. I am a scientist who has to deal with weird non-intuitive software routines to run instruments all the time. If I didnt already have Alexa dots for free with my Sirius subscription, I would have chosen another platform. PS Alexa doesnt know anything so it is a complete waste of time to ask anything except the weather.

> 3 dayInitial installation was easy. Paired with Alexa quickly and was easy to turn on and off a light using Alexa voice commands or Alexa phone app. Adding a routine to turn on and off a light at a preset time was much more difficult. Plug came with no instructions. You must access online instruction on Amazons website. They were incomplete and confusing. I finally found a You Tube site that was step by illustrated step that helped me get the routine up and running. It now works perfectly but it was a long road.

> 3 dayHello, smart home aficionados! I cant wait to share my thoughts on the Amazon Smart Plug, a device thats really leveled up my home automation game, earning a well-deserved 5 stars! This smart plug is an absolute breeze to set up. It truly lives up to its Certified for Humans badge. All you need is the Alexa app, and within minutes, youre all set. No complex steps, no techie jargon – just simple, straightforward automation. I love being able to control my appliances right from my phone. Preheat the oven from the living room? Check. Turn off the lights from bed? Easy peasy. The integration with Alexa is seamless, making it so convenient to control devices using voice commands. Whats really fantastic about this plug is its reliability. It responds instantly every time, which isnt something you can say about all smart plugs out there. In terms of value, the Amazon Smart Plug is a bargain. It brings the future to your home without breaking the bank. Plus, its robust and built to last, offering real bang for your buck. All in all, the Amazon Smart Plug has made home automation a breeze. Its user-friendly, reliable, and gives you excellent value for your money. > 3 dayDidnt have a use for this when I bought it, it came for free with the Echo Dot. I ended up using it for the Christmas tree, and it was so nice being able to turn it off and on with my voice, given that the power chord was in the corner behind the tree.
