AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

Only reason I am giving this a 4 star review is simply because you guys thought it was a good idea to ship a nearly 500 dollar piece of computer equipment in a bubble envelope. Otherwise, this is a fantastic processor, and right now as I am awaiting my AIO in two days, I am using the wraith prism and its keeping it sufficiently cool only reaching low 80s during gameplay. Would recommend.

Has been very good performance and reliable for the time ive had it, the memory channels are holding up much better than on my old 3600x where after some time I couldnt use the XMP profile on 3600mhz C14 ram without it crashing. Its a bit difficult to set a fan curve as with the small process, it heats up very quickly towards 80 degrees and comes back down just as quickly when not under load so fan speed can be a bit temperamental. this is a minor thing, during gaming it never spikes very high.

As everybody knows the 5,000 series from AMD is the gold standard right now. I can confess after doing the install and coupling it with an efficient power supply and great cooler, its just great. I cant imagine a better processor at the moment. It ran cool and efficiently.

Ignore the stupid 1 star reviews. The price of this monster came down when Intel introduced their 12th gen processors. I managed to pick one up at £310, but anywhere around the £325 mark is still a great price for this processor (in December 2021).

Using a Coolermaster ML360 to cool, it idles at 31c. At 100% load Ive seen a max of 71c. Gaming usually gets it up to around 53c on a heat soaked rad.

Haven’t opened it yet, but it arrived like this. Chip looks like it is in there. Will give a review once I confirm the chip in the box isn’t a paperweight
