AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

This CPU can run hot without being overclocked on anything but the best watercoolers or air-coolers.

Coming from a 2700x I noticed a huge jump in fps in certain games and this was with a 3090. If you have new vid card and a 2700x there is a good chance you are bottlenecking your gpu.

At first the processor was running hot as my motherboard is an asus prime 570 pro.

Upgraded from 3700x to this have to say. It improments runs a little on the hotter side but ivae managed to keep it around 65c to 70c most people I have read have been running these chips have had way hotter all in all very happy with it for gaming better fps games really smooth. Using Corsair h100i liquid cooling on this 5800x

So I replaced a Ryzen 7 3700x with this and while it is clearly faster (like night and day) it also runs tremendously hotter. Now since I bought the 5800x without the cooler I just decided to use the one that came the 3700x and I just don’t think its going to get the job done. The 3700 used to run @ like 60c at load. The 5800x prior to fan adjustment got all the way up to 90c

I bought this as a placeholder while I wait for wider availability of the Ryzen 9 5900x. I upgraded from a Ryzen 9 3900x. The 5800x is an absolute beast. Destroys all my previous setups in terms of single core speed. Multi-core /almost/ matches my 3900x, but theres still a sizeable gap in performance. AMD absolutely hit it out of the park with Zen 3. Outside of rendering work, Im not really missing my 3900x.

Im on my second 5800x as the first caused multiple blue screen WHEA errors almost immediately. I messed around with different versions BIOS and BIOS option however nothing I did affected the error. In the end I returned the first one and ordered a replacement. This one is working perfectly straight away and my Pc is now running very very well. This is paired with a 3080fe which it matches well. My motherboard is an x57p Auros Elite. So 1 star for the first CPU and 5 for the second really.
