> 3 dayIm typically long-winded in my reviews. If that isnt your thing, just skip to the last section as I feel its the most important. Im also not overly picky when I like something, but will point out every disliked feature or marketing inconsistency when Im dissatisfied or on the fence. - Visual Quality: Coming from an old 15-inch, 1400x900 VGA monitor the extra real estate and resolution boost is great. Unfortunately the bezels on the monitor arent quite as shown in the product image. In the image, they appear matte and part of the frame. In person, this isnt the case, theyre just part of the screen and, therefore, just as glossy as the screen. This can make the bezel in a dark movie scene or video game just appear as part of the screen, making mouse menu navigation confusing... At least it would if 3 of the corners on my monitor didnt glow like a christmas tree - seriously, its like someone shining a flashlight through your curtains. - 120% sRGB: To be frank, this is typically marketing lingo for scam (Sorry, Frank), and that doesnt just pertain to this monitor or AOC. This monitor does have decent colour portrayal from what I was table to test with hardware, but it was not 100% accurate as the 120% sRGB would lead one to believe, and blues were lacklustre. Not much more I can say on that, Im colour blind to blue so it doesnt matter to me, but the hardware I borrowed from a friend said blues were lacking. - Menu and App Software: The menu buttons built into the bottom of the monitor worked fine for me, it was just cumbersome to use as the buttons didnt have a very distinguished feel, which made it somewhat difficult to know what button I as using. The app software is a massive nope from me. I was sketched out a bit by there being two versions on AOCs website (10 months ago), but used a virtual machine to download them for Windows. Both versions had icon designs that looked straight from Windows XP (Yeah, Im old, sue me), and neither really functioned properly. One never launched and the other stayed as an overlay and refused to close though task manager/terminal, resulting in a VM shutdown and scrub. For those unaware, a virtual machine should run basic software like that without issue, so that was some error in the monitors software. - Free-Sync: Just turn it off out of the box, in my opinion. Im not someone whos sensitive to flashing or strobe lights, but even at a steady 120Hz in brightly lit games the strobing was enough to make me nauseous after 15-20 minutes of running around and testing the monitor out. - Bug: I tested the monitor on 4 systems, one with an AMD RX 6800 XT and again with a NVIDIA 3080 12GB (and otherwise identical specs), then again on a different motherboard/CPU/RAM platform (with the same graphical cards). On all 4 systems the monitor would sometimes lose picture for a few moments before coming back on during active use, and this is what prompted me to test more than one hardware setup. The loss of picture occurred more on the system with the AMD graphical card (Possibly just AMDs notoriously buggy drivers), but it happened on both. It occurred with basic display drivers and AOCs updated display drivers. Ive had the monitor for 10 months as of this review, and Ive never been able to completely solve that one.

Greater than one weekI like this monitor a lot since I jumped from 60hz to 144hz. Overall if you are looking for something that is overall good but not the best monitor and trying to save a bit of money. Then this is the monitor to go. The 2 issues I have with this monitor is the dead pixel I have on the bottom left of the monitor. Even though it is small and unnoticeable, you can not unsee it. I am currently working to get a replacement for the monitor because I really like it a lot and want to game with it more. Another issue I have with the monitor is that it looks hella washed out, so please do play with the settings on it because there is no other way. Also for people experiencing ghosting on the monitor the settings, I say to change is to set your [gamma to 2] [shadow control to 60] and [overdrive to medium], and to avoid the washed-out weird color contrast I put the color temp to normal. I really hope this helps people who are experiencing ghosting with their monitors I will update on how the process will go on getting the new monitor (:

> 3 dayUpdate #2 : Just bought myself a second AOC monitor, this time the 34 ultra wide 2k 144mhz. A very good monitor for gaming! So far Im liking this monitor a good deal. Its what Id expect. There is definitely better but absolutely nothing wrong with this one for the price point. You definitely want to have g-sync/adaptive sync off though. If youre getting this for that, then look elsewhere. But honestly both those features are pretty irrelevant IMO. Ive tested numerous gaming monitors from cheap to rich pig expensive and not one time was I ever like oh wow! That g-sync really made my experience better! In this monitors case, I find that it reduces performance while not improving picture quality much. Other than that its great.... no dead pixels, only slight ghosting on black screens, pixel response time is fast enough (again, as long as g-sync/adaptive sync are both turned off). Brightness is more than satisfactory for any room that isnt quite literally a room surrounded by glass windows. (outdoor use in the sun would be a bit rough, but who does that?) I have two primary complaints : 1) The curvature pretty much does nothing, as it is too slight for a monitor 27 or larger (i got the 27 here). Might be ok for a 24 or smaller. 2) Every single cable it came with was DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Even the power cord! This is the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Luckily I had higher quality versions already available to me. Id recommend this to any gamer who isnt a top tier e-sports player and wants to spend a reasonable (as opposed to excessive) amount of money on a good monitor. I WOULD NOT recommend this to anyone who thinks g-sync and adaptive sync are essential to their gaming. Obviously considering my cable issues, Id also recommend you purchase your own ahead of time.

> 3 dayAfter buying a ViewSonic monitor and being disappointed by the fact that it could not render 1440 P at 120 Hz on the Xbox series X, I decided to give this AOC monitor a try. To my delight all I had to do was plug it in and turn it on and immediately I was able to get 1440 P at 120 Hz and HDR 10 on both the PlayStation five and the Xbox series X without a problem. I wish I would’ve gone for this monitor on the first try. I highly recommend it, if you are looking for a quality gaming monitor don’t hesitate to buy this one. The AOC CQ27G3S is awesome!!

> 3 dayI LOVED this monitor and the depth of color. I thought I had finally found a great 2K gaming monitor...until I watched a video that had lots of black in it. The bleed is so bad I actually thought it was some effect on the screen. Did a backlight bleed test and it was ridiculously bad. I really did not want to send it back so I tried adjusting the brightness, the contrast, and every other setting I could find. Didnt change.
