APC Surge Protector, White Power Strip PH8W, 2160 Joules, Flat Plug, 8 Outlet Power Strip

Everything checks out, but I feel like had the switch were moved to the side, you’d have more room for another socket. Or, have room for those bigger power plug.

I have been a fan of APC products for years using the surge strip and APC battery backup units. I lost a surge strip and only one of three devices from a hit my older non-APC took.

After blowing out our newer big screen TV due to a power surge, we installed this one so that our NEW TV wont meet with the same demise.

This is a great power strip. I bought it to power my entertainment system where my TV, Playstation 4, Soundbar and Fire Stick are plugged into this surge. I was able to use the mounting holes on the back of the strip to mount it to the wall behind the television for a super clean hidden wire install. I especially like the sideways plugs that allow me to plug in power bricks without losing an outlet in the process. The USB charging ports are nice since I am able to power my Fire TV.

Overall, I have a lot of confidence in the APC reputation. Their power related products all have great build quality and thoughtfulness behind it. This particular surge protector (8 outlets) is both thin and long and takes up very minimal space. The 6 foot power cord is also a good feature to have as it allows for various placements for different use cases. My only complaint about this surge protector is that it doesnt have built in slide covers to protect the outlets that arent in use. Ive appreciated this feature on other surge protector vendors like Belkin which help to protect against the household spills of liquid that happen from time to time within a household. I also somewhat wish that the on/off switch were on the side of the surge protector to prevent it from accidentally being switched on/off; I feel its a little more difficult to accidentally switch a surge protector on/off when the switch is on the side of the surge protector. just my opinion.

Im tired of these power strips that have a bunch of nonsense sockets on them. Thank you, APC.

So I live by this company and high recommend it for two reasons. 1. It works. Ive had one that was destroyed during a thunderstorm but like the company claims, it will protect your electronics, and boy did it do so. While the unit was trashed after the storm, all my gear was 100% and protected. After that I was sold and all of the electronics in our house are hooked up to this company. But more importantly, 2. The companys guarantee. If any of your devices or electronics are damaged while using this product, they will cover you for the damage. Cant beat that.

I needed a solid, highly-rated surge protector for my house, and I needed it quickly, so I turned to Amazon and APC. I have owned several APC surge protectors, including a battery backup, and this one (APC Power Strip Surge Protector, PH8, 2160 Joules, 8 Outlet Power Strip) did not disappoint. It is an excellent product at a good price, and I highly recommend it.

I have a kitchen area that hosts all my appliances; a mixer, a high end coffee grinder, microwave, toaster oven. Total its about 1k of appliances, and the power strip it was plugged in was so old you couldnt tell if its yellow because the plastic was originally ivory colored or because it was 20 years old. I work in IT and I dont skimp on power surge protectors; 15% of surges sneak right past your house level surge protection, and can kick in not only due to lightning strikes but minor changes in current, like nearby electricity use, appliances that kick on and off, etc. All you know is 3 years later your toaster stops working. Most of these cheap surge protectors on the market are glorified extension cables. I trust the brand, they havent let me down so far.
