They seemed old or something. There wasn’t a lot of charcoal in the pouch as ones I have purchased at the pet store.

Work great in our filter.

Bought these for my dads fish tank... He hasnt told me that they didnt work so thats a plus!

Received this product, directly from Aqueon. While everything fits fine, and cleans the water one would think the filter itself would be thicker. Its a design issue, not quality. The entire filter is 1/8-1/4 inch thick. Considering the cost per unit, if they would either put more mechanical filter material or charcoal or both. There is plenty of room in the stock filters using this filter cartridge to allow for more, which would make me feel like I was getting my moneys worth. I am considering using a foam filter block instead, which can be rinsed out, and reused. Greener, and a lot less expensive.

1st. Came as a 2-pack and not as a 4-pack as advertised!!!! 2nd. They now don’t even last a few days til they start making a stinking smell and turn all brown... I thought I was over feeding, but no, I feed the exact amount as I always did and that’s exact to the instructions. 3rd. Not worth the price! I would rather make my own and it can work ten times better than these crappy ones...

The filter works great! Just a bummer that their aquarium kit came with these filters, but you can only buy the replacements online. I tried squeezing other filters I got at petsmart in there, but they didnt work as well and my fish ended up dying! Oh nos!
