although it is easy to use, wasnt dependable after 2 useages. The first time i used it, I got 3 of the 4 tires inflated before overheating. second time same issue. Now it doesnt work. Was told by manufacture the brushes needed to be reset. Done. still now power to the compressor. Everything checked out fine. connection, power through the wiring harness. Just isnt worth the effort or money. now i just lost money that could have gone to a power tank.

This thing is powerful! I was surprised when it arrived and I opened the box. This thing was heavy In a good way tho. Well built with quality parts. It comes with everything need to wire it up and to switch it on. You only need to plumb the air side of it. I mounted on the inside up high on the rear passenger wheel well. On my 2006 gmc sierria. I have it going to a 7 gallon air tank and a 25ft air reel where my Spain tire used to be.

I have a 1998 Cherokee that has had an air locker of some sort since about 2000. For many years I had a Quick Air II compressor which served me well but not perfectly. I had several issues with it over the years. It finally quit completely about 6 years ago. After that I installed an on-board air compressor driven by the engine. This too turned out to have issues and I abandoned it. After that I returned to an electric compressor and bought a small Harbor Freight compressor just to run the lockers (all of my other setups were used for airing up and the lockers.) The Harbor Freight compressor turned out to be nothing but problems. Obviously you get what you pay for. The first one broke the pin on the crankshaft. I modified the compressor to use a bolt in the crankshaft and that fixed the problem. Then I had problems with it over heating. Finally one of the reed valves on the piston broke. I mention all of this to highlight all of the problems Ive had over the years with something that is dead simple. I finally decided to quit messing around with junk and go with a compressor made by a company who specializes in air lockers and also has years of experience and a great reputation. Looking at the price of this tiny little guy I though it was very pricey for what I was getting. At the end of the day though, Ive spent much more on unreliable and frustrating solutions. One major benefit, in addition to quality and reliability, is the fact that it is already set up to accommodate two solenoids and a pressure switch. I also believe you can get an air up kit for it if youd like. I decided not to run an air gauge as I didnt feel I need one but I believe it will also accommodate one if you would like. In addition it includes wiring harnesses to connect everything. I cannot comment on whether they worked or not because everything was already wired by me from my past setups so there was no need to read invent the wheel. One thing Id like to say is I dont think I would recommend the air up kit for this compressor. Not to use for airing up tires any way. If you were to use it for airing up balls and small items, maybe, otherwise get a larger portable compressor for airing up. Harbor Freight does make a larger portable compressor that looks suspiciously like a Viair and works quite well. All of this said, this is a great little compressor for running your air lockers. It airs up quickly and has plenty of capacity for this job. It is very compact which makes finding a place to mount it that much easier. After years of messing around with my air source on every wheeling trip it was nice to have a system that just plain worked and needed zero intervention! The price for this little guy may seem a bit high but in reality it is worth every penny.

This little gem is the best compressor out there for size and weight. The dual compressor is nice too but its over double the weight and with a 100% duty cycle I can sit in the Jeep and wait a little longer while I air up (I have tpms). Its a pricey little bugger, but Ive bought two of them now for both Jeeps. Buy once cry once!

I’ve ordered $10 items off of Amazon their box better than this $500 air compressor. Hopefully ARB made these strong because this box looks abused.

This compressor is great, and I would expect nothing less from a company like ARB. I mounted it under the hood of my 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ, and use it strictly for airing back up after a day on the trails. Will air up all 4 tires from 15psi to 35psi in about 10 minutes. Not bad considering the space and cost of this unit. Will also run air lockers if you choose to go that route. Not much else to say, it is just a compressor. The harness that came with the unit is great, really made for a simple and easy install. Switch fit into the stock TJ blank switch spots with slight modifications (nothing a small file couldnt fix). Worth the money by far. The only gripe I have about it, is that I didnt install it sooner :)

Yet another high quality product from ARB. The performance has exceeded my expectations by a lot. After a year, my follow up: I was a little disappointed to find out this compressor is made in China. But the performance is rather incredible. I actually did an experiment to put some numbers to it. Keep in mind, the low tire pressures I run help the performance. I run a 38 x 13 Super Swampers TSLs at 4 PSI when Im off-road. On rare occasions I need to run on the road, so I like to air up. This compressor will take these big tires from 4 PSI to 11.5 PSI in exactly 30 seconds. Im airing up 4 tires in 2 minutes.
