04-06-2025My first time using Arches Rough paper. I love it. I like the absorbency, feel, and performance of the paper. It is higher end and the value is more, but if you want to improve you have to paint on better paper. There is no compromise.

> 3 dayThis is my very favorite paper. However this pad was old and the sizing had gone bad. Paper was not usable and had to be discarded.

> 3 dayI have been using Arches for about 6 months after my art teacher insisted I left the cheaper papers behind me. I thought it was a teachers speech but she was so right. I started with arches cold press and immediately my work improved. I love texture so the hot press did nothing for me and I was happy with the cold press until one day I decided to try the rough....and I L-O-V-E it. I still go back to cold press sometimes (I have about 4or 5 books in my reaerve) but more and more I find myself painting in the rough.

07-06-2025As far as value and quality: the best!!! It is always a great choice! For beginners again Arches is wonderful. However, it is on the pricey side and I like having a variety of watercolor paper for practice.
