> 3 dayI have an early 2008 MacBook Pro with the graphics card failure, and after reflowing the logic board under an IR lamp, managed to get it working again. I applied Arctic Silver on the chips under the heat sink, and my old MacBook has been running like a champ for the last three months, with no end in sight. I looked into buying cheaper thermal paste from Best Buy, but opted to go with Arctic Silver because it was my go-to in XBox RRoD repairs.

> 3 dayMy CPU was overheating and I didnt know why. When I removed the chip there was virtually no paste behind it (that and my father-in-law pointed out that the vent for the case was against my computer hutch thereby inhibiting air flow). So I purchased Arctic Silver. It is in a nice application size and was easy to install. I also move the case, and now I dont seem to be having any more issues.

> 3 dayI use it for the interface between a heatsink and the cpu in a computer build. Its actually way more than you need, especially if you find out that the intel i7 cpu I bought comes with a tube of its own included (DOH!). In this case I would always use what is provided as a rule, but there is no doubt that this would work; I have used it on previous builds. And it will be good for a long time since I didnt open it. My humble experience and reading is that you cant go wrong with Arctic Silver. And if I want to try to improve the hear conduction it is there ready to go.
