this is a great item to have when your building more than one computer, because the smaller containers dont seem to go very far.

Ive been using this thermal compound since its release, and I wouldnt recommend anything else.

I frequently build computers for home and work, and I need a reliable thermal compound. This nails it. Ive used Arctic Silver for years, and its never failed me.

I purchased this to replace the IC Diamond that was applied by my laptop reseller. I did some research before buying this particular brand & it seemed to be on par with others priced higher than this one so I decided to give this a try.

Works great to replace or paste or new build. Has better thermal values than ceramic paste.

If youre even looking at this then you know what it does. AS has a very high standard of quality and even the lowest grade crap they dump in the trash cans at their factory is leaps and bounds above what cpu and graphic card manufacturers seem to put on their products. This particular type is EXCELLENT for thermal distribution. For a proper example, and as an experiment, I put an i7-3770k on a Z77 Sabertooth with the thinnest amount of this compound as I possible could. The layer was as thin as paper...lets put it that way. The computer did not run cool (water cooled CPU and graphics card, btw) but it did run most games and applications just fine with the occasional overheat/blue screen/reboot. After using ArctiClean to remove the layer I put on I reapplied a more realistic layer of this compound and the CPU temperature dropped an additional 20 degrees Celsius.

I’m glad I got this laser for my PS4. My PS4 sounds brand new. Thank you very much.

I was looking for Zalman and Noctua coolers as I was experiencing overheating but I did run out of this stuff here as well in the process of testing different CPU on different motherboards. Well, I realized I should be using big cheap paste for testing purposes and I found a Cooler master white paste for $10 but for normal use I noticed everyone is talking Arctic MX-4 and the fact it is electrically non conductive too. I got to one inch of buying it but I had no reason to abandon Arctic Silver 5, after so many years it was a good friend who did not let me down. It is like your favorite beer, you get attached to.

Do you really need to read this? AS-5 is, and has been, the best hands down silver base thermal paste I have ever worked with. Sure there are other brands out there. I have been, and always will be, faithful to AS-5.

I go through a lot of this. Arctic silver works well, is very easy to apply, and works a lot better than the cheaper thermal paste out there. Depending on what kind of processor you use it on, the large 12g tube lasts quite awhile. If youre only doing a few computers, itd probably best to get the smaller size, although as far as I can tell, it never goes bad, I have some tubes Ive had for 5+ years, and it seems a little thicker (maybe it was a different formula?) but works great just the same.
