> 3 dayBought this to replace an ancient Lenovo laptop. This is not a daily use machine, but one I carry down to our winter home, and use under the stars when out with a telescope. As such, most of what I’ve done with it has been loading the necessary software for both uses. Have been satisfied with the system so far.

> 3 dayAfter buying I find out the heat sink setup is a bit flawed so it does kick up those fans pretty high when it needs, then eventually needs to turn off to cool down.

> 3 dayMy daughter was able to get this computer for her college classes with her financial aid. Very thin, light weight especially when a student is carrying lots of books, she is quite happy that she found it.

> 3 dayI was under the impression that this could handle heavy work. It can handle medium to light. So for college this is fine for me. But for many others who have more advanced work. Find something else

> 3 dayI purchased it with 17gb of RAM but it came with 20gb. Was supposed to be a 256gb SSD but it came with a 1000gb SSD. Bonus. Paid the expedited shipping, $65, but it took almost a week so the fee was waived! Sweet. It is a lot heavier than I thought so I assume the case is much stronger than my five year old ASUS laptop.

> 3 dayAfter only using this laptop for one week it suddenly stopped booting up past the welcome screen. I have used computers for many years and this was the first time I had encountered this. I have no idea why it did this but I did see where this could be a common issue with Asus.

> 3 dayOverall satisfied, had this as a replacement for an old Dell Latitude, which, compared to this, was a battle tank. It came with more RAM than advertised, 20Gb actually, which is a huge plus. I use it for Kubuntu Linux and for the first time Ive had issued running a distro after install -- had to revert to a previous kernel to make it boot. With the right kernel, it works like a charm. The screen is OK at night or with low lights, but during the day I find myself adjusting its tilt to make it more visible. The keys feel a bit loose, but theyre comfortable enough. The trackpad is huge although Im more of a mouse person. Overall, this is a nice machine for the price. Good price-value ratio. Im treating it right to make it last. I still havent tried its graphics, but will soon. Will possible update this review. An SSD upgrade is also in the plans.
