The ASUS TUF FX505dt with the Ryzen 5 3550h is an amazing laptop for budget gamers. You get the 8 thread ryzen cpu and nvidias new 16 series graphics card. Plus a 120hz refresh rate screen which no other laptop has at this price point. I seriously recommend this laptop.

So, I will be honest, we didnt get this for gaming, we got it for my hubby who works from home sometimes and needs a laptop with 10-key. He does financial reporting and billing, and it is so wonderful to find a laptop with the processing speed to handle multiple reports running, email and a billing system, all while allowing the input to be completed on 10-key and not have to bother with a separate keyboard. He loves this. He also loves the screen - he says the colors are nice and crisp and it really is nice to be able to see such crisp variation in color. This would likely be awesome for gaming! We did watch a movie on it one night while lying in bad, and that was great - again the color and picture were great! Sound is also good and no issues with him using teleconferencing apps and the speakers on the laptop to dial in. Overall this is a solid laptop for work, which frankly is a good thing if you are a parent looking for a laptop that your child can do schoolwork on, and also play games. I will say, like most you will need an MS package to go along with the machine, but this is to be expected. Great option!

Laptop is a huge waste of $700. Oh you want to watch youtube, nah Ill crash. Oh you want to game, Nah Ill crash. Oh you want to turn me on, Nah Ill crash mid startup. I have a desktop computer at home built for gaming, so I bought this cause I spend a lot of time away from home and my last laptop was 5 years old and is just so slow it just wasnt worth it, so I bought this laptop to satisfy me hopefully being at a faster speed. The only thing thats fast about her is how fast she crashes. Who knows maybe I just got a lemon and Im writing this bad review for no reason, either way Im still mad at myself for purchasing this.

The battery life when gaming is eh, but when not gaming, the battery life is great! You have to plug the laptop in to get better gaming performance, but when plugged in, its really good! Over 60fps on GTA V High Settings. Over 100fps on medium-high settings on rainbow six siege. The display can be overclocked to 144hz and it looks amazing at that refresh rate. Also, the sleep mode is really good as well. I would suggest enabling the hibernation mode instead, as after I left it on hibernate for 3 days straight, it didnt lose a SINGLE percentage of battery. Hibernate does the same thing as sleep, but in a lower power state. Overall the gaming experience is great, the battery could be better but is still alright, and the sleep mode (especially if on hibernate) is amazing.

Where to begin? I was not a gamer before buying this Asus tuf laptop. I bought it for video editing YouTube videos. My old $400 laptop would not let me preview while I was in the video software, which made cutting and slicing videos together inposssable. First thing I did when I received this laptop was DL oilve the video editor iv been using and seen that this laptop had no problems preview and is extremely fast. I then made a steam account and purchase Gta v I use to play on Xbox 360. Gta v is very memory hungry at 80ish gbs. I added a 1tb HDD and another 8gbs of ram sumsang 970 I believe since I would have to open up the laptop anyway. I didnt really need the extra ram but now I can run more depending video editors. Iv since DL about 5 more games and love gaming again. On GTA v Im averaging 60-75 fps with 120hz the lowest I see is mid 40s fps while playing. Battery life isnt good but its to be expected for a high powered machine. Noise level isnt bad but you can here it when playing games, personally doesnt bother me. If you are thinking about this laptop just buy it.
