> 3 dayI got this laptop out of the box, turned it on and began to set it up and the fan was so loud that I couldnt hear my TV over it, it is like the fan is in emergency mode. This is extremely disheartening as I thought my fan troubles were over with this unit. But apparently not. I will be sending it back.

Greater than one weekThis was my sons first big investment. He had been saving money to buy a laptop and he finally was able to purchase it near the end of last summer after a lot of work. Sadly, five months later the computer wouldnt turn on or hold a charge. After waiting until he had enough money saved up to get it looked up, we find that the motherboard went out and the professional looking at it said he can not find one on the market to replace it so we are just out the laptop. Its extremely disappointing for my son as he had worked and saved so hard for this laptop and got barely 5 months use out of it before it stopped working. Until it stopped working he loved it.

> 3 dayI bought the Ryzen 5/ 256GB SSD variant. At $479 in Nov of 2020, with a 156 screen, backlit keyboard with numeric keypad and these specs, this is a fantastic laptop for the money. The quality of the screen is great and the keyboard pretty comfortable. The sound is also remarkably good, in case you need to watch something through the built-in speakers.

> 3 dayComputer broke and would not charge within 10 days of delivery. Asus support was confused. Thankfully Amazon would refund me - surprising Asus wouldnt touch it. Goes to show their priorities.

> 3 dayStopped working after 6 months went to check with ASUS to see if 1 year warranty was still a option and the sticker with the serial number is blacked out…. Buyer beware when buying open box items from Amazon

> 3 dayHad this computer for 6 months and one day it would not turn on. I used this as a work computer which is 4 hours every other day. I dont game or watch videos, it is just a work computer. Getting through to ASUSs warrant program isnt the best. I dont recommend buying

> 3 dayI purchased this laptop as a Christmas/Birthday gift for my 13 year old son to use for school and gaming. The graphics card (attached to the motherboard) died within 6 months of use. Total disappointment. The warranty only went for 3 months and finding information on how to get help was a challenge. Took it to an expert to see about fixing it and was told the motherboard needed to be replaced. Not worth it. Again, total disappointment. For the price we paid, we expected it to last longer than 6 months.

> 3 dayPerformance is OK. Hardware is flimsy and cheap feeling. Issues with random blue-screens starting after a month of use, intermittent ever since then almost a year later. Im finally writing a review now because the part of the touchpad where you click has stopped clicking and Im going to have to disassemble an 11-month old $550 computer to fix it. I chose this laptop based on the performance specs, assuming the hardware would be OK, but not excellent. In the future, I will pick a different brand that doesnt cut corners this far on the durability.
