Ive had this board for 4 years now at this point I have replaced everything on it except for the deck itself which has held up no problem, Ive never had a problem with an atom board the 5 or 6 years I had been riding them, no matter if your riding it stock or with your own setup they are definitely a safe and quality choice for beginners and pros

I love this board! Amazing quality for the price. Great turning radius (al long as you loosen the trucks enough) and wheel bite is virtually impossible! The wheels are a tad soft, meaning sliding isnt the best as it would tear up the wheels (you could always put harder wheels on). But that also means the wheels are great for cruising as they roll right over bumps and cracks very easily. The ABEC-9 bearings are very good and will allow the board to roll about 20-30 feet per kick on flat landscape. The only cons: The trucks squeak a tad on wood and carpet, but on concrete or asphalt you cant hear it. The bottom colors are also deceiving, the brown and the green are darker and more subtle then in the picture. Overall, amazing board for the price. You can buy reds bearings but I dont think it would make much of a difference. Just a tip for wheel tightness: Tighten wheels all of the way then un tighten 1/4th of a turn for best performance. Also, beware of going off curbs, as if you allow the bottom to scrape the curb it will scratch off some paint.

My 10 yr old picked it out and loves it! He was brand new to long boarding and caught in pretty quickly. Thumbs up!!

Wow! Gorgeous product. Very well built. My son loves it!! Doesn’t get speed wobble when cruising. Goes very fast. If you have a skateboarder it’s a must have product.

This is my first longboard. I was looking for a stable board for cruising and carving around my neighborhood streets and trails and this board is perfect. Not having a kick tail took some getting used to but I knew that going in. The drop is low so its very stable on downhills and with some speed, make sure you adjust your trucks accordingly. I have not tried big hills or anything above 20 mph yet, my trails and roads are smooth so the wheels are fine as long as you keep your speed, i noticed at slower speeds the wheels catching on pebbles that my 65mm Sector 9 Nine ball wheels i have on my Madrid Cruiser rolls over no problem. If you want to slide easily, youll want to change the wheels. The Area 51 wheels are for more grip than sliding with their sharper less beveled edges. I did upgrade the bearings to Reds and the wheels rolled significantly faster and made for more efficient cruising. Im 510 185 and the deck feels solid and plenty stiff if you are looking for a sliding board. The money saved on this set up, with a truck and wheel upgrade you would have an awesome sliding board. At some point, I plan to get to Caliber trucks and Orangatang Stimulus wheels but for now Im Really happy with my Dark Tiki board!!

I wanted to try out a longboard for a last mile commute situation. I am not into any typical longboard activities, this was just the most portable, inexpensive, efficient transportation I could find for 1-3 mile rides in each direction. This comes with softer wheels, standard kingpin trucks, and a slightly dropped deck. The factory combo is adequate. You can get on it and ride, and the wheels and deck make for a fairly smooth riding platform even on lousy roads. The bearings work well enough to start, maybe even better for beginners because they roll ok, but not like youre on ice. I ordered 3mm rubber risers and Bones Reds bearings, put them on after just one or two rides. Both were excellent upgrades, imo. The lower risers make the deck height a bit lower and easier to push, though they invite wheelbite if you are heavier and really work the rails. The new bearings glide great, and are good for probably twice the distance traveled for the same effort as the stock ones. With no other longboard experience, this set-up feels much like a big, heavy, cushy ride skateboard- though without a kicktail. It turns much like a reqular skateboard. The length feels adequate for a 6+ rider, though it may be narrow if you dont like your feet hanging over. Overall, this should work fine as a transportation board on less than ideal surfaces that are flat or moderately sloped. Its faster, smoother, and more efficient than a skateboard, but the choice between this and a cruiser might be made by how you prioritize the deck height, overall size, and kicktail.

Board looks great in the pictures but that’s as far as it goes for looks. It’s a vinyl overlay that scratches too easy. It arrived pre-scratched and because it was a gift I had no time to deal with it. Functionality seems to be all there, my daughter likes how it handles. I spent hours reading reviews and trying to choose the right board. This is what I got and it was not as nice as I expected. There was also a defect smudge in the middle of the logo. Ugh.

Aggressive concave and foot pockets lock you in when you need it while the low deck height increases stability and makes pushing a breeze. Welcome to the next level of Atom drop decks. With their 35mm (3/4 inch) drop these boards feels as much at home cruising around town as they do carving up the hills to get there.
