I bought the Baby Mozart video and watched it myself before I played it for the baby. I thought that it was a gimmick and was disappointed. One day in baby desperation I put it in and it was amazing! I actually got 30 minutes to myself. The baby was mesmerized. I then bought Baby Bach and, while my son enjoys it, it wasnt as good. Then came Baby Beethoven... Julie Clark truly recaptured the magic of Baby Mozart. I would (and have) wholeheartedly recommend this DVD.

This is an improvement over Baby Bach. They started with a great format for Baby Mozart, lost it with Baby Bach and recaptured it here. Love the kinetics, puppets and active toys. The music works well with the action on the screen. Wish I would have skipped Baby Bach and gone right to this. Very helpful tool for exposing your child to music and video. This video is suitable for the under 1 year. My daughter is otherwise not exposed to television or video. This one will not scramble them neurologically. I recommend it!

First we got baby Neptune for my baby. He was interested in it so much, so my husband decided to buy this baby Beethoven as next one. First time he watched baby Beethoven he wasnt interested in it, he seemed confused (because the start is same as Neptune) but after playing it he saw that the sound and scenes are totally different After puppets appeared in the Beethoven DVD, he was so exciting to watch puppets and he started to laugh!! We were really surprised by it, because its first experience that a DVD made him laugh. Of course the music is very smooth and good too. I think its nice for adults too. We like this one so much.

My daughter LOVES Baby Beethoven. We first put it on when she was 2 months old and she has loved it ever since. It has been wonderful to have and has helped greatly when shes been crabby but its too early for bed. All she has to hear is the intro and she gets excited. I think they did an EXCELLENT job of putting in things that keep the attention of an infant. Just remember that every child is different, this works for my child but might not work for yours. I talked so highly about the dvd and bought it for my nephew who is 3 months younger than my daughter but he has no interest in it. Just like everything else with babies, its trial and error. AND I think this is one that is definately worth trying!

What a great dvd! My daughter loves them, and since they dont have obnoxious singing kids or sappy sweet characters, my husband and I dont mind them. The only drawback is you still get the music stuck in your head, but hey, its Beethoven, so it could be much worse! I dont know why my daughter gets so engrossed in these movies, but she does. My husband and I can now even leave her with a sitter and shes just fine. I dont like to plop her in front of the TV very often, but a few times a week gives me the opportunity to put away groceries, pick up a bit...etc. Wow! Theres nothing else like it.

Ive written a few comments on Baby Einstein and Im not a big fan generally. This one may be slightly better b/c there is some correlation to the music with the images but still very little. When in desperate need of a 30 minute break, it can do the job but Im not a big fan of just allowing her to watch TV in a trance. They dont call it baby crack for nothing. Also, the videos all say that theyre for ages 0-3 which is silly. No 3 year old (or 18 month old for that matter!) will ever stay focused on these videos and Im always bothered by the use of the word Einstein in the title as if to imply your baby will BENEFIT from the videos. The music is synthesized too which doesnt help with the development of a babies appreciation for music (and spatial reasoning and all of the things that The Mozart Effect espouses. Fantasia is one of my top picks if youre interested in beautiful music and lovely images. Its not a developmental video obviously, but is a classic. For stimulation and Mozart Effect type of results, the best option Ive found so far is Juno Baby. They focus on shapes, counting, and have cute characters that all of the babies in my play group love. They only have one video on their website but are supposedly coming out with another one soon. Theyre not too easy to find yet either which is not a positive for them - thats their biggest shortcoming. As Ive mentioned in some other posts though, if you do have the time, its better to interact with your baby, perhaps while listening to classical music. Just getting some little drums or tambourines out is cute and might even help teach a bit of rhythm and timing.

My child was a Baby Einstein fan. We started by introducing him to the Baby Beethoven DVD when he was only a few months old. In no time, he began to respond to the sights and sounds. Before long we had the whole Baby Einstein series. Children seem to grasp and understand (in their own unique way) by watching and interacting. Even now at almost seven years old, my son likes classical music and especially the featured tracks from the DVD. I think any program that seems to educate your children early on is great. This series worked well for us. Makes a great gift for parents to be. I highly recommend it. DJ Come of Age (aka Mr. Mom)

Our little one (now almost two years old) still loves this DVD that she first started watching at a few months old. Shes interested in the music and the toys and puppets in each scene.

My 2.5 month old son loves this DVD. Its basically a bunch of toys for baby to look at, just like having Mom or Dad use toys in front of baby (and he probably doesnt know the difference at this age). The toys are pretty cool and are not ones that you probably already use with baby at home. My sons favorite part is when they show other babies. My daughter was not as fond of this video when she was his age - I have a feeling whether or not baby likes these shows depend somewhat on babys personality. She was just not as interested in moving objects, and the music wasnt interesting enough to catch her attention either.
