Nice little printer but the Ethernet portion doesn’t work and the company has a really poor customer service support.

It is not easy to use. BCL do not have their driver on their website at the time I tried to download from their website. If you search google you can have the instruction said you will need to install Zebra driver to use device. Compare to Zebra ZP 450, I’m not feeling BCL has 300 dpi quality. Otherwise everything is good, if you are looking for device cheaper than Zebra ZP 500, can use same driver like ZP500. It’s good. The PC will recognize it is ZP500, only you know it is BCL. Do not compare tech support as Zebra — can’t.

I successfully set this printer up on a Windows PC using both USB and ethernet. While the prints were not comparable to the labels on packages received from Amazon, they got the job done. Two months after I tried setting the printer up on Linux using CUPS. I ran the install script and driver provided on their website. The prints produced had jagged unfilled lines. I also tried the generic Zebra ZPL driver which did not produce better prints. The firmware version out of the box was V10.03.05. They did have a V10.03.06 firmware provided on their website. I updated the firmware hoping this would resolve the issue. I was mistaken. After updating the firmware the prints on linux printed a half shaded block, no text or anything resembling the desired printing label. I contacted customer service via email, no response. They have live chat on their website, which is a live chat with a bot that links you to pages on their website. Clicking on chat with agent sends you on an endless loop to square one asking what your issue is.

The driver stopped working after 2 months! Customer service doesnt respond. You get what you pay for. Do not buy unless you only need a label printer for a few weeks. You get what you pay for.

To use with Ethernet, we had to install the drivers this way. This is for the BCL110(203dpi) thermal printer on Windows 10. We connected the USB and the Ethernet cable. Run the BCL series Printer Driver install. Then run the BCL Utility. Be sure to setup the TC/IP ports. Run Get info. Print test page. If not successful, add new port, etc. When test print is successful, then do next steps to work with UPS website. Install the latest version of Java. Install Google Chrome (will NOT work with Firefox). Go to UPS website and install thermal printer driver. Very poor info from BCLs website. Tech support was closed when we called, although they say 24 hour support. Once working, very good quality. Works with other programs for other label applications.

Setup the printer for my Etsy shop. It’s easy to use. It took me an hour or so to get the driver downloaded properly. I downloaded and installed it twice. Second round worked. Makes fulfilling orders on Etsy so much easier and saves time. The manual and driver is all online and the FAQ page was helpful on some things. Overall, I’m really happy with the value. I looked at many of these and went with this one because of a couple reviews.

Label printer what just what I needed to streamline the sales process for my small business. So much easier to print and scan than to have to pricetage each item by hand.
