I bought a new desk and needed one of these to use to plug in my laptop, fan, lamp, and miscellaneous chargers into and it works great. Like others users have said the on/off button is protected nicely. The cord is a little long so I can actually put it on a bottom shelf of the desk so it looks more organized. Great buy.

Exactly what I was looking for...short cord for underneath a desk - no messy cord bundle... I like the direction of the plug so I can put the inevitable big heavy adapter at the end and still reach the rest of the plugs.

belkin makes some of the best surge protectors out there. they are cheap but they work. I live in Fl where we get alot of thunderstorms and power outages/spikes. nothign plugeged into a bvelkin has ever fried but some of the chepa generic surge protectors have failed me anough tha ti spend a few extra $ on belkin. I replace em every 2-3 years as well best to be safe when protecting a few hundred bucks in electronics.

What more can be said? I actually meant to order one with a flat connection on the wall so my desk could sit flush. I think only the 8 foot cord has that. The 2.5 foot one certainly didnt. I swapped it with another in the house, so no big deal. It has a nice modern look. I will mention that the switch doesnt feel very nice. The range it moves almost made me think it was busted when I first unboxed it. I think it was done to match the overall styling of the strip. It isnt a problem, but it does have about half the travel of the classic surge protectors.

Luckily Ive never had a power surge but as a power strip this thing works great. I have used it heavily for almost a year without any issues.
