> 3 dayI love this projector, for the cost, what you get, its great. But also with the price point, you get absolute trash customer support and warranty through benq. I have sent this projector to them multiple times for random things. Had a Fan die, when it came back, the color wheel was having issues, when it came back the next time, I noticed there was a screw and broken pieces of plastic rolling around inside the projector, they had also broken one of the main case supports. So, I sent it back again....the next time I got it back, all seemed ok....until today....my lamp is at 973 hours....the first one lasted me 5700....and now my lamp is flickering and dying....Humm. so, I opened it up because I have a spare lamp, and I find out that some idiot has replaced my lamp mounting screws with some kind of standard computer fan screws! They drilled out the holes on the lamp but didnt bother drilling out the mounting holes on the projector itself! So every single new lamp I get, I have to modify to make it work! It doesnt even mount up properly, i have no idea how they have got away with this kind of customer support for so long but wow. I am floored. Worst support i have ever experienced in my life. As of now, I have sent them another less than pleasing email expressing my disdain and asking for my original mounting screws back.

> 3 dayThe color and brightness is really good, good mode options and color adjustment. But if you turn on WCG then its not bright enough... Theres a faint border around the screen. The focus wheel feels loose where it shifts the screen during rotation of focus. It takes a while for the screen to adjust to different mode, wait for a couple or few seconds. It does it for each video displayed. The black is pretty good. Wish it uses Philips HLD LED that can go up to 6000lm so its operates cooler than lamp.

> 3 dayMy friend and I have an expression when we see or hear something spectacular. Its, Hold it, Hold it, Hold it! Folks, this is about one of the best kept secrets in home theater or home entertainment! I dont think there are any words in the dictionary to express the picture quality and price of this unit! People, tbe Benq ht3550 is a True 4K unit. It does not Pixel Shift like other projectors are built to do to trick the eyes for 4k imaging. Benq calibrates this unit at the factory, colors and all to ISF (Imaging and Science Foundation) and cinematic standards the way the producers meant them to be seen. This unit ROCKS! and even has a longer lasting bulb than other units. It is about 1.30% larger in size of the Benq w1070. What sold me on the unit was the purchase of the Benq ht8050 I installed in my parents home in Colorado. We were watching the 4K version of The Lion King in a 120 screen and I fell out of my chair when I saw the immense clarity of the ht8050 that does not even have Dynamic Range. Its a huge unit and required blocking between the rafters to center it. The ht3550 I have is light in comparison and has Dynamic Range! Excellant, excellent unit and I highly recommend that people purchase this unit!!

> 3 dayI bought a house with a media room and state of the art JVC. Or so they say. After hours of troubleshooting, I decided to buy the BenQ. The only bad thing, the throw point was different from the JVC. Had to move the mount location on the ceiling. But, after it was all done, the colors and resolution are outstanding. I would like a little more brightness, but it will work. Had a lot of folks over the other night and watched Mulan. It was outstanding !!

> 3 dayI’m coming from an Epson Home Cinema 3500. Had it for 4-5 years and ran into the “auto iris error” which seems to be somewhat common with some Epson models. I am looking to get it repaired, however I was hoping to take the opportunity to try out a different brand while I sent my Epson in for repair. After a lot of research and watching several video reviews, I settled on the Benq HT3550. This true 4K projector looked legit and everybody raved about it. I was very excited to give it a try. I’ve never experienced light leakage from a projector before but almost everybody talked about how it was an issue in the previous model, but Benq got it right with this one. I have to tell you, in my opinion this is a pretty big deal. Call me OCD if you want but to me there’s no reason for any projector to be putting out such a distracting light border. I included a picture but please know the image cannot capture the prevalence of the border. In person, it is extremely noticeable. I marked how far out the border goes with the yellow line in the picture. You can see it better without the image on the screen, but it looks like I simply need to keystone the image and zoom in to fit the screen, right? That’s why I included the image of the picture on the screen so that you could see the image fills the screen, keystone is great, but you still have the light leakage. To be fair, my wife says that it doesn’t bother her and when you are watching something on the screen, you don’t really notice the leakage as much. However, I do notice it and it really bothers me. Have a mentioned in the review yet that I’m a little bothered by this, ha! Sorry, I just can’t explain how people are overlooking this issue. The best explanation I have read is that all DLP projectors have a little light leakage and people sort of chalk it up to being something you deal with. Bottom line is it is a superb projector and image quality for the price...IF (and it’s a big IF) you are OK with a 6 to 8 inch light border around your screen. I’m not so it’s going back. It’s really unfortunate because I was really excited about the potential of this device.

Greater than one weekWeve had this projector for about 4 months now and have to say - its fantastic. Im sure you could spend more money and get a better picture, more features, etc, but for the price, I think this is the best you can get. We have a room that is a light beige color and windows on the back wall - if we wanted to watch this during the day without shades on the windows, the image would be a little dim. That said, any other time, the image is incredibly sharp and the HDR makes everything look great. Weve got it at about 135 and it looks amazing - highly recommended!

> 3 dayPurchased directly from the BenQ site. This is my first projector and I am so happy I went with BenQ. I have been doing some research on projectors for a few months now, and BenQ products had better reviews that some of the more expensive stuff out there. The image quality is just outstanding. We paired the projector with a 110 Silver Ticket Products screen and WOW! The image does look better in a darker room (as it is described), but the image is still great with the lights on. Highly recommend this item.

> 3 dayIve been drooling over affordable 4k projectors since they first came out back in 2018 or thereabouts. First, was the Optoma UHD50, then the BenQ HT2550 and a Viewsonic and even an Acer. Yet, I didnt have the money at the time and these first-generation projectors used a DLP chip that left a lot to be desired. Come 2019, and the next wave of affordable 4k projectors came out. I embarked on more research and by the beginning of 2020, I decided to get the BenQ TK850. Why? I have a light-controlled but my screen is 180, so experts recommended to go for the TK850s extra brightness, with the trade-off of less-than-perfect colors. I bought the TK850 from another place since it was out of stock on Amazon. The unit came and it wow-ed me. It looked so vibrant and with so much detail! But once the excitement was gone, I noticed a lot of color inaccuracies and even some weird aberrations that distracted me. Nothing big, though. But, for the first time, I noticed the rainbow effect, and it drove me crazy! Sadly, I returned the TK850, and bought the HT3550, risking getting a dimmed image, as the experts said. After a couple of weeks of heavy watching, I can say that Im very happy with my purchase and that the HT3550s image is bright enough for my huge 180 screen. I upgraded from a BenQ HT2050, the 1080p version of this one, and the difference is night and day: From dark levels, to a gamut colors, and of course 4k detail. The HT3550 blew me away!
