> 3 dayLook, its a nice PJ. Its quiet enough and resolution is great. It is picky about the strength of your HDMI signal - there are plenty of older HDMI receivers that will not have enough signal to light it without (at least) tweaking the settings in the built in HDMI Equalizer. Even when you do, it is inconsistent and fussy with resolution. If you wire it straight from the source (Apple TV, PS4) these issues do not present. I am upgrading from an 8 year old 720p DLP unit, and have never been able to see the rainbow effect with it - on this one, I can see it in the whites every time, without fail. Also, this thing is bright. On its least powerful settings, I still had to mount an ND filter to the front to get it dark enough in my completely light-controlled theater. (No, you cant adjust brightness and fix this, brightness is a component of the picture adjustment, not the lamp output.) While the color rendering is truly terrific and remarkably-tweakable, the sharpness really does leave something to be desired. While there are work arounds for the other issues I have with this PJ, there is no fix for underperforming glass, and this is ultimately why it was returned. What can I say, its mounted dead level, flat and true and it is discernibly soft at the edges of the screen. My screen width at 16:9 is 87, it starts to lose focus about 13 from either side. The lens just isnt up to it. You can see it in programming and it is very obvious using the (internally generated) alignment grid feature. I really, truly wanted this thing to work out and Ive tried accommodating it every which way - lots of people obviously love this PJ - in my experience... its just not cutting it. For similar money, the Epson is hands down a superior product in every possible way.

> 3 dayAllow me to start by saying that I had to return this projector. My theater room has a 1080 projector that does a good job but it bothered me that I got a much better picture on a low cost TV than I did in the theater room. After reading a lot of reviews and matching products with my budget I settled on the HT3550. I set it up and the right half of the picture had about 10 vertical lines; it was like watching a movie from a prison cell. I called BenQ and, much to my surprise, they answered the phone quickly and the support rep asked a few questions, had me try some things, and then finally concluded that it was them and not me. I played with it for a few hours and tried to ignore the obvious glitch. The colors and the sharpness were much better than my 8 year old Panasonic 1080 projector but still not as good as the 4K picture I get on my LG OLED television (no, I didnt expect it to be that good). But, I keep asking myself whether the picture improvement was worth the money. Im still undecided so I havent ordered a replacement. If I was setting up a new home theater, this would be a no-brainer. But as a replacement for a working 1080 projector? Ill get back to you.

> 3 dayGreat picture but I could not get over the loud fan. Where I sit with a decibel tester was 40. Late night when you turn the volume down all you hear is the fan. Would have given more stars but to loud. RETURNED :(

Greater than one weekPerfect for my theater room. I have a little outside light in the room and this projector has been perfect.

> 3 dayI have the projector mounted on the ceiling, pretty close to seating area. The projector is loud and is distracting. The picture seems pixelated. Another user suggests to turn off HDR in source and in the projector for better picture quality. Will update once I get a chance to do that. I wouldn’t recommend getting this projector.

> 3 dayI was impressed by the image quality in terms of colors, etc. However, something seemed off about the screen size. I realized what it was when Walter Mitty looked like he lost 25 pounds since the last time I watched that movie. Compare picture 1 (1080p on phone) with picture 2 (1080p on HT3550) and you should be able to see the difference. In my setup, the projector is sitting in the back of the room, high up on a shelf on the wall. I had to adjust it downwards by a lot, but still within a bounds of whats correctable using its keystone adjustment. However, I confirmed through measuring the image, that the more keystone you apply, the more the ratio gets distorted. Where I had it sit, it projected an image of 94⅜ by 55½. This is over 4 too narrow! It results in a ratio of about 15⅓:9 instead of 16:9. The ratio distortion is less at less keystone adjustment, but more measurements confirmed it does it even at minimal adjustment. My current 1080p projector doesnt have this issue at all. I dont understand how this is even possible, since the keystone adjustment is (as far as I understand) not a physical thing, but a digital thing. Even if some viewers might not notice it, a $1500+ machine should not have this kind of problem, so I returned it within 24 hours.

> 3 dayThere are many in depth reviews here, so I will just say that if you have and love your W1070, this is the perfect upgrade. Throw and lens shift are almost identical, so I simply bolted it to my existing ceiling mount and it works perfect! Picture is clear and crisp at all input resolutions, but best with 4K content. Contrast is better and HDR works great. As with the W1070, the fans are loud and distracting during low volume viewing and quiet dialog scenes. Worse for me since the projector is mounted on a 9 ceiling directly above my seating position. But there is a silent mode, which quiets the fans considerably, at the cost of HDR. So for TV, sports, etc, I keep it in silent mode. For movies where I have the volume cranked anyway, fan noise is not noticeable. Bottom line is this projector is highly recommended!

Greater than one weekThings great. Just make sure you center it on the screen prior to screwing anything down .

Greater than one weekSo we purchased this and got a dead pixel a few months later. We sent it back on RMA and got it back a couple weeks later. It worked for about a week and then a different pixel went dead. We tried to just love with it, but then a 3rd dead pixel. We just sent it back off today. The Epson we had never had an issue for 5 years, this has already been repairs twice and still getting dead pixels. I was very hopeful because of the good review, but if you have to send it in every 3-4 months, it really isnt a good deal. I hope they give us back a good one.

> 3 dayBeautiful picture but very dim. Accurate color is clearly the focus here. Another great projector from the fine folks at BenQ. Nice 3D option and works well in a very dark room. Keep in mind that 3D makes the image even darker than normal when using shutter glasses. For you gamers out there looking at this....don’t! Look elsewhere. Honestly, the lag isn’t just noticeable, it is awful. Look into an actual gaming projector from Optoma or Epson. BenQ does have gaming projector options also.
