> 3 dayAwesome picture quality. Bright enough for darker rooms. Meets expectations! Cons: 1. A bit too noisy for my taste. You can hear it during quieter scenes. 2. No horizontal keystone correction is bummer. I have to move my screen to perfectly align with the lens.

> 3 dayI was looking for a 4K upgrade for my Benq W1080ST projector. I really need a short throw projector, and this is not it. In fact Benq has apparently decided to abandon customers who need short throw capabilities due to room constraints or other issues. None of the new 4k models offer short throw. This is a questionable business decision.

> 3 dayTips: Download the Firmware update. It will fix some of the color issues, mostly with HDR not looking right. Picture needed slight adjustment but was really close. If the HDR picture still doesnt look right after the Firmware update (too red or funny colors) turn off the HDR for that show you are watching. HDR did not work well for non-supported HDR programs, but did look good for programs with HDR. Maybe the Auto doesnt work perfect. Definitely worth the money. 150 screen that looks 4K amazing

> 3 dayMajor set back is 3D. Yes it supports 3D but if you have ripped all your blue Ray to USB drive and have it in half SBS, you cant play it using media reader as the aspect ratio cannot be adjusted. If you have roku and use roku media reader, the projector wont detect 3D content and the button will be grayed out and no way to turn it on. If you try from remote - direct 3D, it will switch back to 2D and its a big no go. Benq cheap projectors allow you to use 3D manually but this one work. Have to return as its no go for me. Will look for laser projector at this price point.

Greater than one weekas a projector enthusiast (over 17 years) I can say that this is the the best projector I have ever own in my life. I use it in my home cinema room and its just breathtaking. here is my take on it. used for movies and gaming. (PC and PS5) Pros: sharp, low input lag, bright. Pros and cons of Ht3550. Pros: Sharp as a razor blade. Contrast ratio. Amazing image depth. The colors are 100 % accurate out of the box. The quiet hum of 4k chip, you cant really hear it. No light border around the image. Dynamic iris (a good thing to have but not a deal-breaker) Lens ceiling light shield. Breath-taking hdr capability. (still cant find my jaw) Cons: some say it has a high input lag but it never bothered me in games. my tests showed about 50/55MS without the dynamic iris and about 77 with dynamic iris turned on. (i game without the dynamic iris) but I dont feel it in any game I play on Ps5. 2000 lumens, works best in dark rooms. Image syncs two sides of the screen for a minute. (only at startup). purple Fringing/ chromatic aberration. its only visible up close and as soon as you gain some distance from the projector screen it goes completely away. it is known with this model and it should not bother anyone owning this projector. although rated 2000 lumens I would say its about 2500. I have another 2200 projector and HD3550 blows it out of the water. I am not playing FPS games so I have never seen input lag, dont let this issue stir you away from this amazing projector. 4k gaming on my ps5 is just stunning and frankly, sometimes unbelievable how amazing it looks. The cons are very negligible vs the pros. I dont know how Benq managed to do this in this price range but its just nothing short of amazing.

> 3 dayThis projector is awesome. I have had four different projectors over the years. Obviously this being the newest it has become my favorite. It does not support Dolby Vision, my only down side and not worth marking down because I knew that when I bought it. It puts up a clear image and the auto iris is amazing. I run a Xbox One X on it and plays 4k content with easy. The video game responsiveness is perfect and think this would be a perfect addition. Brightness is also a plus on this. Total darkness is always ideal, I have mine in the garage and I will crack the garage about 6-8 inches for airflow during the day. It lets sunlight into the garage, not a lot, but i can clearly enjoy watching TV or movies on the projector. Load time is about 1-2 minutes from start to get to full brightness. Another quality product from BenQ

> 3 dayAs advertised. Perfect for our home theater (dark room/no windows. Easy set up (ceiling/back of room), though be mindful of distance and measures. Hard to believe this is half the price of our epson 5040. Image quality is slightly better.

> 3 dayI’m coming from an Epson Home Cinema 3500. Had it for 4-5 years and ran into the “auto iris error” which seems to be somewhat common with some Epson models. I am looking to get it repaired, however I was hoping to take the opportunity to try out a different brand while I sent my Epson in for repair. After a lot of research and watching several video reviews, I settled on the Benq HT3550. This true 4K projector looked legit and everybody raved about it. I was very excited to give it a try. I’ve never experienced light leakage from a projector before but almost everybody talked about how it was an issue in the previous model, but Benq got it right with this one. I have to tell you, in my opinion this is a pretty big deal. Call me OCD if you want but to me there’s no reason for any projector to be putting out such a distracting light border. I included a picture but please know the image cannot capture the prevalence of the border. In person, it is extremely noticeable. I marked how far out the border goes with the yellow line in the picture. You can see it better without the image on the screen, but it looks like I simply need to keystone the image and zoom in to fit the screen, right? That’s why I included the image of the picture on the screen so that you could see the image fills the screen, keystone is great, but you still have the light leakage. To be fair, my wife says that it doesn’t bother her and when you are watching something on the screen, you don’t really notice the leakage as much. However, I do notice it and it really bothers me. Have a mentioned in the review yet that I’m a little bothered by this, ha! Sorry, I just can’t explain how people are overlooking this issue. The best explanation I have read is that all DLP projectors have a little light leakage and people sort of chalk it up to being something you deal with. Bottom line is it is a superb projector and image quality for the price...IF (and it’s a big IF) you are OK with a 6 to 8 inch light border around your screen. I’m not so it’s going back. It’s really unfortunate because I was really excited about the potential of this device.

> 3 dayI am a first time projector owner...all I can say is that I am amazed at how far along projectors have come. I’ll not a videophile but I know the different between 1080p and 4K and know enough about black levels and things like that to know when a picture is good and this unit has it all. My only complaint which is not really a defect is that I wish it was a little brighter. Again it’s not really an issue with the projector and they do offer another model that’s made for brighter rooms but I wanted this model since their higher lumen version will not match the color depth of this one. Overall i didn’t know what to expect when I got this but I love it. I have also tried the 3d but it’s just way too dark for my taste but my wife didn’t seem to care. Just my preference I guess. I may try using the BenQ glasses instead of the cheaper ones I bought on amazon to see if that helps but overall I wasn’t pleased. The images were very dark with a lot of ghosting in some scenes. Overall I highly recommend this projector for the price...you won’t be disappointed.
