BLACK+DECKER Level Tool (BDSL10), Red & Black, 36-Inch

I bought this level at Home Depot based on the advertised Non-slip Gecko Grip pads and can be held in place with only one hand. When I got home, looked at it and read the directions, I could not figure out how the Gecko Pads at each end of the level provided any grip. The pads are spring loaded and perfectly smooth plastic. If anything, the spring pressure would tend to move the level away from the wall. I then put the level against a wall and there was no grip at all.

This is perfect for hanging pictures and things on the wall.

This is good but a little bit heavy. Although it might mean that it wont easily break. Does what it needs it for.

I love how simple it makes hanging a picture on a wall. The markers keep it so simple a child could hang a picture. I like how it takes the guesswork and transfering measured marks which leave room for error. It is by far the best level for this application. Even easier than the laser level that I have.

I wish the center of this moved as well left and right as I few times needed that and having the hole rings just move within their respective areas was not enough

I ordered this years ago, and have used it as my #1 option to hang pictures. when the size of the picture is right, this is so easy its almost like cheating. My one and only complaint is if the size of the picture is over approximately 32 wide, its a tool that doesnt work. If you have big, tall walls that needs bigger art pieces, you have to use alternative means. If this were extendable, it would be amazing.

Nice level that does all the leveling things. Good weight but not too heavy.

We did shelves and pictures with this, using the level to mark out where we needed to put the anchors in. since we shop Ikea all the time, we had a ton of stuff to put up. I am not sure about the other reviews, but the gecko system worked perfect for us. the fixed soft pads held the level fine when you apply pressure to the level so you can mark with your free hand. when you apply pressure, the hard pads retract, but when you arent applying pressure, the hard pads allow you to slide the level and adjust it until it reads level.

Makes hanging pics EASY. I can use it with out having help.
