For the most part, Im satisfied with this umbrella. The inverted design is way better than a regular umbrella that closes with the top folding to the outside. It would be nice if it was slightly larger. Sometimes I accidentally push the button to make it close, and it closes on me when Im standing in the rain. Then I have to collapse the center pole towards the handle to reset the spring mechanism to be able to reopen the umbrella while Im getting rained on. The design could be improved by having the buttons for opening and closing slightly recessed into the handle instead of slightly protruding out from it so I dont push them when Im holding onto the umbrella in the wind. Another way this could be improved is if the handle was a little longer so I could grip it without gripping the buttons. The strong spring for opening and closing is good though. I like how it opens and closes right away when I want it to. This is the second Bodyguard brand umbrella Ive purchased, and the other one worked just as well as this one.

I really like this umbrella i was skeptical that it would be sturdy but I love the reflective edging and so far so good …… no umbrella is windproof but this seems as sturdy as it gets and i am pleased with it!!

Seems like an extremely well made and sturdy umbrella. I love the size, bigger than most compact umbrellas so it protects me better, but not so large that its a liability when the wind is blowing hard or so its unwieldy when negotiating your way around with others on a crowded sidewalk. I feel the same about the handle, most compact umbrellas have tiny short handles that are hard to keep a firm grip on, this ones longer and more comfortable to hold. Its just hard plastic though and I wouldnt mind if it was rubber covered so it was a little more non slip. Still, not enough of an issue to ding it a star for. The leather cover is ok, but its kinda large so I dont use it. The nylon sleeve is nothing special but it works and is more compact so thats what I carry it in. I commute to work using public transportation and part of that commute includes a 1/2 mile walk so my umbrellas get used regularly. My last umbrella while durable was too small in diameter and the handle was atrocious so I got this one to replace it. So far so good. If it doesnt stand the test of time Ill be back to update my review!

Ive had auto-open umbrellas for years; wouldnt have any other. But Ive been increasingly unhappy with the manual close. When you get in the car, trying to stay dry while you reach up to close the umbrella is hard. And then the umbrella drips over everything as you try to place it in the passenger footwell. This works well. BUT! Beware when you press the close button, it is an instantaneous SNAP close! I wasnt prepared for that the first time and it really surprised me. When you press the close button, it snaps into a folded shape (a triple fold for each vane, so it gets very small). Then you have to press the handle back to its short length. Its easy to do that without getting water in your lap or on your car seats because the water is contained in the folds. Good umbrella with adequate coverage and (so far) reliable operation.

This umbrella deserves a review: My wife and I were headed to our sons graduation from the Police Academy. It was pouring rain. My wife was worried about her hair, so I was given orders to find an umbrella. I could only find one that was damaged... bent and shredded. So, holding what was left of the junk umbrella over her hair, I get her and her hair in the vehicle okay, but I was drenched and had to show up looking like a hobo. So after a long search on my beloved Amazon, I picked out this super umbrella. After unpacking it I first noticed the hefty weight of the umbrella packed in its carry bag, it weighs at least double what most foldable umbrellas weigh. Solid. A push of a button and this thing shoots out, FOOMP!! It opened fast enough to startle me! WORTH MENTIONING: Do not open this thing pointed at someones face. I have no doubt that it would bloody someones nose! Anyway, I chose the smaller one but its still larger than most mini umbrellas. The inverted spines work really well. It sheds water like a new wax job. Amazing. I tested it on this last rainy day with wind gusts up to about 25 mph.. It didnt even budge. I think the weight makes it more stable in the hand, so it doesnt feel like its going to just get snatched out of the hand. To close it, push the down button to unlock it and it goes limp, place the palm of one hand on the tip, the other on the base and then firmly PUSH your hands together until it CLICKS (its not easy, it takes a little effort) but all in all its the best umbrella Ive ever had... Because I chose the color black, the ship&delivery was fast (and thats saying something nowadays. Yup, its a keeper! Im getting another one for my wife. Next time it comes a monsoon, my wife and her hair are on their own.

To replace an older style inverted umbrella. I had to push one button that would only open that umbrella.

Everything was fine. Im waiting for a big rain to see how the umbrella works.
