I bought this compressor for diving on the bottom of my sailboat. I was able to power it off my inverter and calculated the draw to be about 560 watts. I dial the regulator down to 60 psi and have it hooked to cheap diving regulator I got off Amazon. The compressor kicks on and off while I am underwater. Seems to keep up with my breathing just fine, at least when I am just a few feet underwater. The compressor is so quiet it’s amazing. It also fills its little tank so quickly. I love this compressor and would definitely recommend it.

I dont do construction. I wanted a compressor to blow dust off things, clean my Roomba, de crud my garage--in other words, minor household tasks. And I didnt want to be deafened in the process. This fits the bill perfectly. Its soooo quiet, easy to move around, simple to use. One of my contractor friends was so impressed hes looking into a heavy duty model for his purposes.

This is a nice, quiet, and well built compressor. Perfect for what I needed to run a brad nailer. It is amazingly quiet, especially compared to the “pancake” style compressor I was used to. Quality construction, but will have to wait to see the durability after more use.

Great little compressor super quite, recovery time is quick. I was sold under the claim that most compressors have a 500 hr. Life expectency and this one is claimed to have a 3000 hr. run time expectency, that sold me and have seen first hand small compressors lasting far less than 500 hrs. I did have a problem with the control nob for the air pressure adjustment being plastic and easily can be twisted to far and easily broken or snap off could have splurged a little and integrated the knob n a safer location or made this a bit more durable. I would recommend to any one who uses small Power Tools such as finish nailers. Portable air system, or any small compressor job. Ive yet to try this with a framing nailer but would be interested to see how it holds up. Has anyone tried it with a framing nailer? And how did it hold up?

Likes - small, very quiet, reasonable weight. Dislikes - pressure adjustment knob broke in my hand on perhaps the 10th or 15th use - about 10 months after purchase. There is a very fragile plastic interface with steel screw and valve. This stripped and cannot be repaired. I attempted to contact California Air Tools for support via their online support form several times over the course of two months, but never heard anything back from them. Then I called both service and parts departments multiple times, but again never spoke with anyone. Finally I called their new sales number, which they answered immediately. They managed to get the parts/service guy on the line, but he told me Id have to buy a new knob from a third party vendor that handles all of their parts sales. Upon contacting the third party, I learned that it is not possible to simply buy a new knob. Youve got to purchase the entire regulator assembly - which would require installing pressure tight couplings. Total BS. I would not purchase again. There are many products that can do the same thing. I try to go out of my way to buy from companies that are interested in supporting their products. California Air Tools IS NOT one of these companies. Buyer Beware.

This air compressor is pretty lightweight and seems much quieter than my last quiet compressor. Although the noise level may not be significantly lower the quality of the noise is much more tolerable and can be spoken over without raising your voice. It makes enough air to run most trim nailers, but if you try to use this for other high air-volume demanding tools or a framing/roofing nailer - youre a fool

The CALIFORNIA AIR TOOLS CAT-1P1060SP GAL 56DB Air Compressor that I received seems to be used, the screws for the gauges were embedded into the bottom of the cardboard box and the one that goes into the right side the threads that the screw is supposed to screw into are completely stripped out, I really didnt want to send back so I repaired it myself, Its a good compressor but my point is it shouldnt have been sold as new.

I used to own a pancake compressor that would frighten my dog when it kicked on. This thing is quiet, well built, and is an awesome deal. Ive only used it to shoot nails, but I did quite a few. It worked with zero faults and it even fills fast. Under a minute from no air in the tank to full. Its solid and well built. I feel like it weighs slightly more than my porter cable pancake compressor, but theyre real close in weight. I thought the 1 gallon size would be too small, but it fired off nails as fast as I could pull the trigger. This is totally worth the ~$115 I paid for it. If I get another compressor, Im going with a California tools one. I love what theyre doing.

This unit is very quiet. No one has exaggerated that. Mine arrived in good shape with no issues. Via a 6-foot host I connected a external regulator / water trap and 4-port manifold at my airbrushing station. No leaks as far as I can tell. Compressor startup is quiet and doesnt make me jump while airbrushing. Fills quickly and then shuts off. I have the compressor output set at around 50 psi so it never gets as low as the external regulator. Pressure at the airbrush is good all the time. Im more than satisfied with this compressor for airbrushing. I wont be trying it for inflating tires or running nailers and such. I have bigger compressors for that kind of work.
