> 3 dayWe have used these hoses for a couple of years and it is an excellent RV drinking water hose. That is, until you try to use it in colder weather. I was rolling it up on a cold morning a few weeks ago and it kinked in a couple of places. The kinks are permanent, and I expect the material to fail soon as it repeatedly bends in exactly the same places. Update: We have now had one of these hoses lying in the Florida sun for two years. The outer blue shell has suffered UV damage and is cracking off. No leaks. The chemical taste has become more pronounced. We replaced it today with another of the same because we felt it delivered good value.

> 3 dayGood hose for filling water coolers for student-athletes to drink. Doesn’t leave a “hose” taste and with the materials it won’t start to break down or release rubber or discolor water when it ages. It is rather stiff and keeps a “memory” if left bent/folded. I keep it stored in 4-5 large loops. It also expands some when left under pressure so always release the pressure and turn the water off when not in use.

23-04-2025These are the way to go! You can order them in many lengths and they are pretty serious as far as a hose goes. They are very well made. The and are super strong. I purchased two 25 foot for a class b RV so when I only need the short length I use one but if I need long I can hook the two together. They roll up nice and small and take up very little space.. At first they do really like to stay rolled up. You for sure need to wear them in some because they are so well made.

Greater than one weekSupposed to be a drinking water safe hose, but the city water had a terrible chemical odor and taste within 3-4 weeks in the Calif sun if the water has been in the hose for even an hour or so. And thats even with a brand new CAMCO water filter following the hose!! In order to get rid of the taste/odor, had to run the water for several minutes. In my opinion, if you can smell and taste chemicals, I dont believe its safe to drink that water! In the last several years that Ive been using various brands of drinking water hoses, most will last at least 6-12 months before leaving bad chem smell/taste. This one didnt last 4 weeks! Very dissatisfied and returned.

> 3 dayExcellent fresh water hose for my fifth wheel. This hose is specifically made and marketed as a drinking water safe hose. And RV camper needs a dedicated fresh water hose and this one received some very good ratings and works for my purposes.

> 3 dayEvery RV owner needs a quality water hose. I am very good about separating my drinking water hose and other hoses. I have a filter attached to my house. I don’t drink the water that comes into the RV from the faucet. However, I still want very clean, sanitary, water coming into my sink and my bathtub for washing and bathing. This is a must have for all RV owners.

> 3 daySuper hose, the ends are really heavy duty, and easy to grip and attach and the tension relief spring is a nice added touch. The hose if very flexible, it didnt seem to have any coil memory even on the first use. I uncoiled it fully, laid it out straight and put some water pressure through it and it laid perfectly flat. I will buy this brand again if I need a longer hose or replacement, but it should last for many years.

> 3 dayThats it. They are great hoses, but almost impossible to use if the temps drop. I am shopping for something new.

> 3 dayFew (UPDATES)... Bought both, The HD Valterra 5/8 hose on first impression wins this one... a noticeably better product, all-round, with full flow through fittings match hose ID, my concern. (UPDATE: the brass or alloy male connection end is of a quite soft thin pressed out brass type metal. Caution dragging! I messed up my male end a little already, oops-). The HD Camco hose fitting connections are not full hose diameter. Both appear to be 1/2 ID restrictive fitting, but are machined sturdy and sharp cut threads. Many hose makers use restrictive fittings, and they are not desirable when long hose runs are necessary with multiple connections, at lower fresh water inlet pressures. Both the HD Camco and Valterra ends are attached well, but the machine sharp threads, and loose chrome plating flakes inside the Camco hose were not desirable, IMO. Also, IMO, machined sharp threading into other softer materials tend to cross thread, ie: plastic and other cast fittings. The HD Camco hose material does not feel or appear to match the 20% better claims as listed and on packaging. This Camco HD hose feels thin and the reinforcement appears almost as graphically embossed vs. the visible thread mesh inside the thicker feeling hose material of the Valterra HD hose. Both hoses are very stiff when cold. Camco hose felt like it would crack if forced. (UPDATE: the VT HD hose tends to take a set and kink quite easily in hot summer weather. Valterra HD hose coiling for storage during hot weather gets kinda weird. The HD Camco stiffer material hose may perform better in the summer heat.) Valterra HD hose packaging states a 10 year warranty, and feels like it will make it. The Camco HD hose... a limited 1 year package claim. IMO, the 5-6$ more for the Valterra 25 -5/8 hose is worth it, many of Val. products are. I exchanged my Camco hose for their dual axle wheel twist clamp stabilizer... its simple, light, and handy, but needs to be checked every few days while in use. Happy trails.
