The hood that comes in this kit mounts using the filter threads. This hood is not reversible, which sort of sucks because the good hoods are literally less than $10 on Amazon from a ton of different sellers. If it had a good hood it would have had 5 stars. The rest of the crap this kit comes with is mediocre. I only bought this kit because it had the hood with the lens. Now I need to buy another hood.

Beautiful image quality. Most definitely would recommend this camera lens, I would say this is worth the money.

This is the upgrade lens from the kit lenses. And this one is a gem. Fast. Quiet. And quite nifty.

First of all fantastic lens. f1.8 is amazing. But I bought this for video and was under the impression that STM was quiet when focusing during video. Not the case. Its very audible. Get picture quality when prefocused.

I bought this Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens + 3pc Filter Kit for my son for Christmas 2016 and he has been using the kit ever since. He is very pleased with it and has had no issues at all. The lens is the gem of the kit but the accessories are all good as well. They have all withstood many months of use and everything is durable and good quality.
