Great lens for normal every day photos. I have to get used to moving my body to the right distance rather than zooming but live the pictures that it produces.

The lens is used for low light photography. Lens is a weight saver. The lens does not disappoint

Pictures are sharp as a tack. Lens is audible when focusing, (reason for only 4 stars), unlike my STM kit lenses which are dead silent. Love the lightweight, compact size.

The lens itself is fine, but the lens hood is generic and doesnt fit the lens correctly. It goes on sideways if its tightened all the way and to straighten it out, its too loose. Plus the lens cap then doesnt close onto the lens firmly and could pop off at the least little bump. Ill have to purchase an actual canon lens hood Im guessing.
