Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 is STM

Is exactly what it says it is - plastic, but good glass and function.

Have been so busy have only tried a few times.....seems very good and a good price.

I am relatively new to the DSLR world, so I cant say that I have a ton of experiences with a ton of different lenses, but I know what my eyes tell me, and this lense takes some fantastic pictures! I have included a photo that shows 3 pictures of the moon and one of the sun that I took with this lense (the reason I was able to take picture of sun is due to how smokey it was from the late summer fires that usually occur, making it possible to look at sun).

The lens works well but is not lite on the wallet. I couldnt believe the zoom level that could be reached, but its difficult to lock onto your subject at that level until you half press the shutter release to utilize the IS system.

Overall, great value money. Build quality could be better, particularly the mount. Good picture quality, with noticeable vignetting.

Item not as described. The manual focus ring did not work--it was unconnected from the focussing mechanism. In both AF and MF modes, the manual focus ring spun freely with no effect. In AF mode, it shouldnt turn, and in MF mode it should turn to the stops while adjusting the focus. Im returning it.

Very good lens. Smooth and fast. Great zooming for the price.
