> 24 hourThis is an attractive printer that gives great results, but it is a little slow starting up. If youre looking for fast this probably isnt for you but if you want great results at a very reasonable price this is a winner.

> 24 hourI had an HP all-in-one for a few years (2nd one). Always had issues with printing, responding from computer, quality, etc. Decided to give the Canon a try.Best money Ive ever spent on a printer. Easy to use, quick setup, print quality is great. Very user friendly. Great if you have school age kids.

> 24 hourI brought this printer from someone who owned it for a few months. This printer is durable. My printer survived being dropped a few times, moved to storage for a year, and then being used for a year after that. However, the computer connection piece broke forcing me to buy a new printer. I can still use the printer as a scanner and copy machine though...

> 24 hourI couldnt believe that his printer/copier/scanner performed so well for such a small cost. It is a superb value and a most satisfying printer, easily installed and works like a charm. It has my full endorsemant. Bravo to Canon and Amazon.

> 24 hourCannot believe Cannons dirty little secret - you cant scan if you are out of ink. What a cheap scam from Cannon, a respectable company would resort to holding your scanner hostage if you dont buy their exorbitantly priced ink. Worthless.

> 24 hourI see that we have owned this since early March, 2009, nearly six years. We sell online and do a lot of printing. This printer has served us well. We actually own another. its a good thing... I had an error message just now. The Ink absorber is full. Who knew? I have researched the steps. It is kind of a dirty job. And the counter must be reset. The information is freely available online. The new part is only available from Canon. Here on Amazon they sell six models. I was unable to determine which one is for this machine. Here is a middle-priced one: http://www.amazon.com/Sparepart-Canon-ABSORBER-SHEET-QC1-0049-000/dp/B001U0AM0C/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1423692732&sr=1-4&keywords=canon+ink+absorber It is $38 plus $35 to ship it... say WHAT? For a little sponge thing?? Oh, and one is $524: http://www.amazon.com/Sparepart-Canon-Waste-Absorber-QM1-0659-000/dp/B0077JQSXK/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1423692732&sr=1-5&keywords=canon+ink+absorber They >cant< be serious. *Sigh.* Good thing we have another similar one that hasnt seen much use. We will switch them out.

> 24 houri love this printer, it works great. its not SUPER loud but it does make noise but thats fixable since it has a quiet mode. picture quality is good, it actually surprised me. i also like that it has preset templates, for example you can print a checklist or notebook page just by selecting the option, i also like that it has a button to print color copies and one to print black and white copies this works great since you dont have to turn on the computer to choose a setting. it can actually do a lot of things without a computer except for maybe printing a document thats ON your computer but it can print it without the computer if its on a memory card. i was expecting some updates from my lexmark 3 in 1 dinosaur but i was just amazed at all the things this printer can do. Im sure if what you want is a for heavier buisness use you might disagree with me but if you want it for your average home use its perfect, and the price is a total bargain! the ink is a bit pricey compared to lexmark but i purchase the XL and i really dont print too many things so it works for me.

> 24 hourThis used printer came in good condition which was a wonder considering the box looked like it had been handled by a gorilla. The printer is working OK..... but, the problem is it came without the user guide and from China. The shipper knew it was going to America and it would have been nice if they had put it in to the English language. We have not tried real hard to put it in to English and Im sure that we will be able to do that. Just keep in mind that this can happen when your product is coming from a country other than America. Other than that one little problem, we are happy with our purchase. Thxs.

> 24 hourI dont think I have ever written a negative review in my life, but for this product I will make an exception. The printer never realizes when it has paper in it and if it does it often jams. I see that this is a common problem from other reviews. Also the scanner would not work on the first one so we returned it but the scanner does not work on the new one either. The most frustrating part is the paper feeder which takes about 10-20 tries of reloading the paper to get it to work. Save yourself the time and hassle of this machine and you will add a few years of free time to your life.

> 24 hourI have been a HUGE fan of Canon printers for many years. In fact I have only bought Canon for my own computers, having listened to complaints and problems about every other brand from all of my friends. The price alone on this MP480 (I paid $49.50 for it, with a $20 mail in rebate-making the total cost less than $30!!!!) makes it an incredible value, but it is also the best one yet for printing speed, quality and functionality. I LOVE the fact that it will print, copy AND scan all in one very compact machine! Goodbye stand-alone HP scanner, I never cared much for you anyway. And the fact that you can print photos from your camera and make copies without the computer even being turned on, is just awesome. Not only does it support pictbridge (plugging your camera into the printer) but it also has slots for your memory cards and a pop-up screen with a very functional menu to take care of almost any printing need, sans computer! It was a snap to set up, installed without a single glitch and, unlike the other reviewer who had difficulty with what they perceived as an antiquated, unhelpful print-head alignment program, I also found that process to be simple, fast and easy. PLEASE NOTE: If this is your first USB printer, you will need to purchase a USB cable because it doesnt come with one. So, why not 5 stars? I do have two complaints: 1. The best thing to come along with printers in the last 15 years was Canons innovative use of separate cartridges for each color. They last 10 times longer and save money by ONLY having to replace the single color that is out. There is only one possible reason why Canon has decided to stray from that smart technology - MONEY. Less ink in a more expensive cartridge means more money in Canons pockets. Still, these cartridges are cheaper than comparable ones for Epson or Lexmark printers and I have NOT found that the ink disappears any faster than other brands with a similar quantity of ink (buy the XL replacement cartridges for a better value) 2. I loved the auto-shut off feature of my ip2000. I never had to turn it off or power it back up. When I needed to print, I simply hit the print key and it did its thing. The MP480 either needs to stay on all the time (the menu screen does turn itself off after 5 minutes of non-use) or you have to turn it on and let it go through its lengthy routine every time you want to use it. That said, the quiet mode is quiet, the print quality is superb and the footprint on my desk isnt much more than my ip2000 and the multifunction MP480 allowed me to get rid of my bulky scanner, so even with its two drawbacks, this one is a definite keeper!
