Canon MP480 All-in-One Photo Printer

I just had it for like 1 month and likes it a lot. Its easy to set up and use. I scan important document often and the scan quality is good. As for printing, the quality is good for a non-laser printer. Cons: 1. May be not very ink-efficent. I just used it for like a month and the user interface on the machine told me theres only half left for my black ink. 2. Doesnt come with a usb cable. I dont know if this is true for all printers in US. In my home country I bought a printer and it comes with usb cable by default.

Wow, just what the doctor ordered! She even looks good! Like the closed dust protection features, ease of use, and quality of prints considering the price. There is no better deal on the net! Shes my first printer so I did my home work on this one. Very happy with Amazon and loved the FREE shipping! I highly recommend this if your looking desktop printer in this price range. First off, this printer has met all my needs. I am a poor college student who needs an all in one printer but cant afford those crazy $300-400 dollar printers. This MP-480 fulfills all of my expectations and is great! Here were my printer criteria. 1) scanner to scan pictures and trading cards to sell on ebay, 2) color printer and copier because the library doesnt have color printers (I need color copies for projects and papers that involve pictures) and copier to make those emergency copies when I dont have time to go to the library, 3) something not too big. The MP480 fills all those needs. First it looks very stylish and folds up very nicely to prevent dust from getting into anywhere. And, it makes great photocopies, good enough scans of pictures and trading cards, and prints like a charm. Basically if you run a home office, this printer isnt for you because its kind of slow when making copies and runs out of ink quickly. Pros; Very easy to install cartridge (unlike my former HP deskjet .. hated installing cartridge.. believe it or not would take an hour sometimes), compact and nice design (basically is like a box when all folded up to make easy to carry and store), all in one printer, lcd screen is very simple to operate and not complicated, paper adjusting mechanism installed on paper tray that makes it so easy to print photos, $50 rebate when order from B+H, The only cons: doesnt come with printer cable, scanner quality is about average, is loud when printing, not wireless, and toner goes out quickly. For the toner issue when you buy the replacement cartridge in XL I heard that the ink lasts so much longer. You should opt for that if you end up purchasing this printer. Hey, but in the end this printer I would highly recommend to any college student! All those cons was after about a 1/2 month of usage is because I am very picky. But really, I have no right to complain because I payed $80 for all these things. One printer, copier, or color copier alone cost that much money. And with the proposed $50 rebate that BH promised me, I basically will pay $30 for this printer!!! after the rebate comes from BH. I have yet to receive the $50 rebate, but B+H has a very good record and I trust that they will deliver on their promise

Great printer and scanner! Pictures come out very nice and clear. It can be a little noisy, but the quality is worth it.

easy set up, easy use- scans, copies and prints pretty well. Not bad at all for the price. It does use a fair amount of ink but thats about par for the course for an inkjet.

I couldnt believe that his printer/copier/scanner performed so well for such a small cost. It is a superb value and a most satisfying printer, easily installed and works like a charm. It has my full endorsemant. Bravo to Canon and Amazon.

I see that we have owned this since early March, 2009, nearly six years. We sell online and do a lot of printing. This printer has served us well. We actually own another. its a good thing... I had an error message just now. The Ink absorber is full. Who knew? I have researched the steps. It is kind of a dirty job. And the counter must be reset. The information is freely available online. The new part is only available from Canon. Here on Amazon they sell six models. I was unable to determine which one is for this machine. We purchased the Canon MP480 (all-in-one no fax) along with a new computer purchase late in February so have only had it in service approx 1 month. Set up and putting into service could not have been easier. There was a bit of confusion following the instructions, but determined that the automatic find and initiation was beter than instructions to the point that it seemed seamless. We have a 64 bit Windows Vista computer. The scan/copy aspects are smooth and easy with good interface. We downloaded Adobe PDF plugins for Word so dont know if that is the means by which we can save scanned items directly to PDF but that is neat especailly directly to multi-page documents (Only have Adobe Reader software). They are a bit large in size but efficient. Printing a photo on the included 4x6 print paper was very impressive. Printing in general is pretty fast ... home office with not intensive requirements. The printer is a bit noisy, but knowing that something is not breaking makes it OK. Have not had any ink problems thus far. Other reviewers complained about ink usage. The Amazon $70 with free shipping is a real value ... did not see anything to compare. I read reviews and also determined the Canon was a good buy ... performance wise as well.

I received the aforementioned and installed it on my computer. The printer works as advertised. The print quality is excellent. Noise level is tolerable but much higher than my old i550. One disadvantage is that the color ink tank is all in one in contrast to the i550 which had seperate ink tanks for each color which will result in higher operating cost to replace the ink tanks. I also had to reposition all my old setups to accomodate the Pixma MP480. If you are looking for a high quality first time photo printer this is one that should be given serious consideration.

This is an attractive printer that gives great results,but it is a little slow starting up. If youre looking for fast this probably isnt for you but if you want great results at a very reasonable price this is a winner.
