> 3 dayHave had this printer for about a year. Worked well enough until we upgraded Mac operating system to Snow Leopard OSX 10.6.2 - then things started to go wrong. Printer required new driver download and still wont print accurately. Print preview shows documents in correct format, but printer spins an extra blank page and wont print text with correct spacing from letterhead. Also encounter other problems with Mac/Pixma interface, but wont detail them all. Dont know if problems are caused by Snow Leopard or Canon. Apparently they are not made for each other. Gobbles ink, but it printed nicely until the Canon/Mac interface failed.

> 3 dayFor the money, this is a dandy home printer for the non demanding. It gets the job done. Ive tried printing 8x10 pictures, and I saw about what I expected. If I want higher quality pictures printed, I need to spend more money, end of story there. But for basics, its just fine. Use the larger cartridges though. It is a tad thirsty, but not unreasonably so. UPDATE 10-02-2012: This printer/scanner still works flawlessly. Its a little slow but, it has NEVER let me down.

11-06-2025The Canon PIXMA MP 480 printer/scanner is all that I expected and more. It copies beautifully. And for such a good price. I like it. Bob

> 3 dayDo a search for error codes Pixma on the net. Youll find out. I know for a fact that some can be fixed through the internal computer on the printers but Canon hides the fact to squeeze you.

07-06-2025Canons PIXMA MP480 all-in-one printer has a very nice presence. It is very sleek with many preference options; it is very user-friendly and easy to install. You must buy a USB cable; it does not come with the printer. Pros: The scanner and copier are good quality and have many options for professional images. The printer comes with useful software and free paper samples. The print quality is good (you must set the printer options correctly and use the right paper). The printer is very quick to respond and prints full coverage pages quickly. Cons: Ink: It will cost at least $40 to replace the ink for both the color and the black cartridges. (The ink lasts an average number of prints as compared to competitive printers.) There are only two cartridges, black and color, instead of the color-efficient 3 CMY cartridges. Durability: The printer is reasonably priced, but do not expect a heavy-duty printer at this cost. You will get what you are paying for. The shell of the printer is flimsy. It is made out of plastic. Overall, you will be pleased with this purchase and will be impressed with the quality of this deal!

> 3 dayThe printer is fine, but the cartridges are very small and expensive. They cannot be refilled.

> 3 dayAfter my wife went through two HP All-in-One printers, I turned to the Canon MP480. We are glad I did. The unit seems to be much better made and is certainly more durable. The ease of use and print quality has a wow factor and Canon is known for the quality of its photos. If you have stuck with HP over the years like me, this Canon is worth considering.

> 3 dayIt is too soon to evaluate this printers endurance. I use it infrequently. So far it has provided excellent results. It is slow in set up, and the series of movements involved in set up produce odd, star-wars-robot type sounds which still surprise me. But it prints efficiently, is easy to use, and is, so far, reliable.

> 3 dayi love this printer, it works great. its not SUPER loud but it does make noise but thats fixable since it has a quiet mode. picture quality is good, it actually surprised me. i also like that it has preset templates, for example you can print a checklist or notebook page just by selecting the option, i also like that it has a button to print color copies and one to print black and white copies this works great since you dont have to turn on the computer to choose a setting. it can actually do a lot of things without a computer except for maybe printing a document thats ON your computer but it can print it without the computer if its on a memory card. i was expecting some updates from my lexmark 3 in 1 dinosaur but i was just amazed at all the things this printer can do. Im sure if what you want is a for heavier buisness use you might disagree with me but if you want it for your average home use its perfect, and the price is a total bargain! the ink is a bit pricey compared to lexmark but i purchase the XL and i really dont print too many things so it works for me.
