> 3 dayI absolutely love this game. Its peaceful and fun. You can play with a few friends or by yourself. This is the first game Ive ever played like it kind of like a puzzle and board game all in one.

18-11-2024Cascades is a beautiful looking game with high quality components, clearly written rules, and enjoyable play. Took it to a church game night. They players caught on to the rules quickly. They so thoroughly enjoyed it we were asked to bring it back next time. My wife and I have played it a couple times ourselves. It plays equally well with two and four players. I have tried the solo version and it was enjoyable, too. The game is played in 20 quick turns and even with four players we finished games in about an hour. Two of us usually finish in about 45 minutes. The playing surface is just beautiful with all the tiles and animal counters laid out. Players complete their own ecosystem but there is interactive competition because the habitat tiles come from a turn-to-turn limited (but constantly changing) common pool.

> 3 dayThe game supports more than two players, but its great at two also. Players take turns selecting from terrain/animal pairs each turn and placing them in their Tableau. You score based on varying conditions. Ex. A chain of salmon, for each pair of bears, most of a terrain type, etc. Its very easy to learn and teach. I would classify it as a light game. Placing times can require some thought and present opportunity for analysis paralysis. Since there are multiple ways to score, players can attempt victory with unique paths. The terrain tiles are cardboard, easy to read, and easy to identify the iconography. The animal chits are wooden and very nice quality. I highly recommend this game for casual gamers.

Greater than one weekThis game is great for the family. It has variations to keep it fun too. A little pricey, but I am glad I got it! Highly recommend for family game nights!

> 3 dayThis game is so good. Youre struggling with two different spatial puzzles at once which is incredibly satisfying when it all clicks. The different wildlife card sets give this game loads of replayability and theres even an achievement campaign in the rulebook if you want an extra challenge. Cascadia plays great at every player count. Theres nothing negative I can say about this game. If I had to nitpick, the insert is totally useless and doesnt do much to separate the components. Thats it. Cascadia after only a few plays quickly became one of my top 5 favorite board games of all time. If you dont mind that it has very limited player interaction, this is a no brainer and a true bargain for how incredibly designed and well balanced it is.

> 3 dayLike the title say: easy to learn and not too repetitive. The combination of animal change the points combination each time you play.

> 3 dayEasy to learn game but difficult to find right now. I pre-ordered this before Christmas because of the wildlife theme and our family is big into puzzle games. Just received this week and we cracked it open today. Often with modern board games, directions lack clarity in at least some regard, but that’s not the case here. Directions are incredibly clear and well written, and there are many variations of the game with rule changes you can adjust in order to keep the game fresh. This feels like a cross between the games Planet, Kingdomino, and Calico. I’ve seen that this game and Calico are often compared. We have both and I love both. But I think this one will come to the table a bit more often than Calico. After our first game, which was a 4-player, all of our scores were within 10 points of one another, so it’s a tight match. There’s no take-that element, which we like. I found this game to be relaxing, strategic, but it doesn’t bog down. It was just enjoyable :)

> 3 dayIt’s a mix of the game Carcassonne, and Catan. Love the aspect of adding animals and creating a world. Enough luck for my kids to win too. Great game for the family.
