> 3 dayI loved the bio balls, and tiny ceramic rings. I hate the carbon. With dew washing and washing the charcoal that came along with made my aquarium super dark, and cloudy. May be I should have washed it like 100 times over couple of days before I put in the filter. Apart from that I guess it is ok.

> 3 dayI had read that this product could dust up the water of a small koi pond pretty badly, so I rinsed it very, very well. I then placed the bag of media into a perforated plastic tray on top of my biofiltration media. At first it appeared a little dusty, but after a few hours, the water cleared up. 24 hours later the water is still stabilizing after the addition of a 55 gallon drum biofilter, but it appears fine. This is a charcoal medium unlike any I have worked with in the past. I have a large bag of more traditional media and a dozen media bags on the way. In the meantime, I see no harm in this, but I believe it would work more efficiently in a canister with a post filtration setup than it does in my more informal biofiltration.
