Carbon particles made the tank supper dirty and cloudy, even if I had rinsed it and soaked it for hours. This charcoal is probably meant for grilling barbQ and not for aquarium use. Ceramic ring is ok and the bio ball as well, just stay away from the activated charcoal, it will surely activate your head fumes.

This is a pretty good bank for your buck buy. Been using it for a few months now and they ceramic noodles and bio balls are still intact and not crumbling. I havent used any of the carbon yet. I only use it for remove smells or meds.

Wash the pieces prior to putting in your tank... Rinse them very well or your tank will cloud up(just ask me)!! Bought sponge filters as well. Switching my filter to reusable filtration... To save on cost and convienence!

A must to use this kind of medium for aquarium canister filters.

It worked great for my set up on my filter and cleaned my dirty tank over night. By the next day my Aquarium was crystal clean
